Which would have a bigger impact?

LucasArts stopping all online support for SWBF1 & 2 and all other games it has published except in the last 3 years
LucasArts stating that any person who mods any game of theirs will get fined and all mod tools/ sites would be shut down

What did you put and why? This is purely for fun and this will most likely never happen. But what would have a bigger impact on you and your friends who play/mod SWBF? :)
Happy Debating!

Good question, it reminds me of the books: CityOfEmbers, and People Of the Sparks.
Although, modding/websites would be my biggest impact, I wouldn't play if i couldn't contact my buds online, or mod the game. If the games internet lobby shut down, eventually 'we' could get it back up (we=some person with alot of money that loves swbf) that could host a lobby.

The first one would. People who play mods make up a tiny amount of the people who actually own and play the game. People buy games to play them as they come. So with Civilization V there is an achievement for downloading a mod, only 11.2% of all the people who have the game have done it. And how many of those did it just for the achievement (I know I would.) ?

I would like to know SK, which would have a bigger impact on YOU?  :tu:

Definitely one, Modding is fun, but I wouldn't play at all without it being online.

Then again, I could NEVA play without online game-play.
Lol, I don't know which is worse... I wouldn't play if i couldn't mod.

The first one. I wouldn't stop modding for my own personal enjoyment and maybe for the assistance of any server host that needed it. I just wouldn't release anything to the public anymore. Besides I don't have much time for modding much any more.

So, that was a joke? In some moment, I start thinking, Kit Fisto, got last news...
Well, stop modding is surely most bigger impact to me. In this case, I can't download some new interesting maps, by other modders, and can't capture new experience. Also, deleting all tutorials, and impossible, to asking some questions about modding, cud be very sad...
Beauty is, the way to perfection.

Glory to Ukraine!  :mf:

The first one :D , i love to play the game, just 7 months ago i got my 1st mod map, and usually people make crosshairs to aim better and without online players .. Modding isnt that fun for me to give up online play :)

I would definitly say the first because if you arent able to play the game why would u mod it! I cant mod yet anyway its all still confusing but even IF i could mod well i would choose the game for the same reason, I could just mod another game  :cheer:

i vote the 2nd option cuz, there are ways around if lucasarts does pull the plug such as VLAN and DC although these have their limits. this game would be too boring to play without mods imo.

altho realisticially i agree wtih SK about just keeping mods private if there was some kind of rule against modding but lucasarts would NEVER do that after having released BFBuilder it would be too contradicting and psych0freds site would be shut down...

It would affect me more if they stopped supporting SWBF. I wouldn't play it if I could only play offline.
I just can't seem to stay away...
