Title: My fps seems to be capped?
Post by: bellamy123 on November 27, 2014, 01:39:25 PM
Okay, I haven't played battlefront 1 in a long time. Now, my game seems lower fps then I recall. I used my xfire fps checker and it said 30 fps. Is there an fps cap for this game? How can I check my fps using battlefront itself and also how to take out fps cap if there is one, sorry for all of this :(

The frame rate is capped online if that's where you checked.

he can use the /noframelock option.  I will see if I can find a link to describe the process.  Note that it can be a little buggy.

Hi SWBF players,

I have only recently become aware of a command that will make your game play very smooth.

The command is /noframelock.

The way you use this command is as follows:

Make a short cut from battlefront.exe, usually located at

C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront\GameData

NOT the file, LaunchBF.exe

Paste the shortcut to your desktop. Right click on the desktop shortcut icon, select properties, and edit the target to say

"C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront\GameData\Battlefront.exe" /nointro /noframelock

The program location may vary if you have it installed on another drive or if you use Windows 7.

Note that sometimes you will get flakey graphics artifacts happening, like your unit's head will get exploded. It can also be difficult to get to the respawn screen.

Now, here is the important part--use the new shortcut to launch SWBF!

Enjoy!

Hi Led, how am I supposed to have the TPS bypass combined with the SWBF Launcher.exe that allows me to have a widescreen game? A 60fps + fullscreen widescreen LAN server is what I'm trying to do.

Using Battlebelk's launcher, you will see a file called "SWBF1 Launcher.ini"

edit the ini file to include noframelock
[CMD]
COMMAND_LINE=/nointro /win /noframelock

[IN_GAME_RESOLUTION]
WIDTH=1280
HEIGHT=1024

if you ask to me, i am creating own launcher and my launcher send commands on game launching. It is means that other commands like /win, /nointro do something, but i dont understand what the /noframelock do.
