here is the wide screen tool:

Created by Battlebelk. Installation instructions are in the Readme located in the file. You will need WinRAR to open.

Here is some information noted by PLA BobRoss:

I had been wanting to utilize the full 1920x1080 resolution of my monitor since I got it... after hours of searching online without success I gave up :(  Then Led pointed me in the direction of Battlebelk's Resolution Changer and all has been happy in the world.  You can see the difference in some of the screenshots I post of the scoreboard (Check out the challenge thread for some easy comparison screenshots).

To get Widescreen setup on your game (It should work for non-standard/laptop resolutions as well but I have no way to test) just follow these instructions:

Go to SWBFGamers.com:

http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=303

You will have to register to be able to download the file, it is in the 2nd post, titled SWBF1_launcher.rar

Open the folder and extract the contents to the location of your Battlefront.exe folder.  You will need to modify the resolution lines in the SWBF1 Launcher.ini file.

[CMD]
COMMAND_LINE=/nointro

[IN_GAME_RESOLUTION]
WIDTH=1680
HEIGHT=1050

You will also need to make sure that the resolution you selected has the correct resolution added to the vidmode.ini file (Located at ./Star Wars Battlefront/GameData/Data/_LVL_PC/ ).  You can easily do this by renaming the file to something like vidmode_old.ini then launching SWBF to generate a fresh vidmode file.  Then go in and add the lines you need -- If you don't know your GPU's Vendor/Device codes, just add it in to all of the sections.

My game automatically generated all the information I needed:

If you have to manually enter in the information yourself, you can try copying the lines you need from here or typing in the correct information.  Pay attention to the first number after the resolutions - This is the AA settings available for you card.  You can't really make any changes in game because the video options section indicates a normal resolution; however, my card seems to be running at the full 8x AA and 1920x1080 even though the video options show no AA at 800x600.

The readme covers pretty much anything you need.

You will have to launch the game with the SWBF1 Launcher.exe file in order for widescreen to work.  I created a shortcut to this file and placed it directly in my games folder for ease of use.

If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message or reply here.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet

possibly need to update video card drivers
if it hangs at black screen without the resolution changer running, the game is missing a file such as shell.lvl

If the resolution changer is on there should be a symbol in the system tray if that helps.
I play less now but I'll always be around, lets keep this site and battlefront going. :)

......why? I installed the game both at my laptop and my computer...at laptops the game plays but it's not at full screen,at my pc there is the black screen

I installed the fix with all of the steps, and I can't seem to get the fix to work, it just says in the 4x3 resolution

That doesn't give us much room for advice.  Can you post your vidmode.ini file and the configuration file for the launcher?

I've always been curious, is there any way to achieve REAL widescreen with Battlefront? The engine tends to keep the ratio 4:3, which causes it to look smooshed even at high resolutions.

Use BattleBelks too.  It is real widescreen.  No smooshing if you choose the correct modes.

Is there a certain setting of his launcher that I'm not enabling or something? His resolution launcher does a wonderful job at allowing Battlefront to play at higher resolutions, but from what I've seen, it is unable to allow the in-game camera to do REAL widescreen. It's smooshed. The menus and HUD are in proper 16:9 ratio, but your player model and everything else geometry-wise becomes stretched as soon as you spawn.

The only way I found to 'fix' it is by setting your monitor to a 4:3 ratio with black bars on the sides. I mean, it WORKS, but to pass it off as "real widescreen" is what I have an issue with, and you replied like this to numerous comments on your youtube channel.

Even in your widescreen tutorial you had to adjust the sides of the screen in order to make the image appear less stretched. It isn't widescreen. Real widescreen would be full, unstretched in-game resolution with FULL use of the monitor, not just a portion of it.

If it isn't possible, then just say it isn't possible.
