Tech Support / Looking for Engineers and Web Designers
January 18, 2020, 06:20:00 PM
Hello everyone! :)

So, many of you may not know this, but I'm part of an organization called https://darkjedi.org or DJO for short.
In this organization, we have past Battlefront 1/2 (2004/2005) clans (or what we call them; Clubs) such as IGF (Imperial Ground Forces) and RGF (Rebel Ground Forces) which currently no longer support the older Battlefront titles (they support the new ones) but IGF has Retro gaming nights that include the old Battlefront games as well as CIO (Central Imperial Order). Now, in this website we have other clubs that support many different games, including non-Star Wars games.

We have a DJO Staff team that currently is growing and looking for dedicated Coders and people who know how to work with Web Design as well.

DJO has been around since 1996 (that's nearly 24 years!) So, it's definitely an older website. What keeps it going is the dedicated Community we had and currently have that are passionate about making DJO a better place for everyone.

I invite you to send me an email at DJOSueKrueger13@gmail.com or reach me on steam or discord if you're interested in helping us or know of members I should reach out to, here in SWBFGamers.

Thank you so much for your time, and May the Force be With You!

There are a few other invite links to the server.
Generally, the https://discord.me/SWBFSpy link should work fine, however, if you're having problems, feel free to try these;

https://discord.gg/fzJCwCT
https://discord.gg/QPfgStv

^ these 2 should work for sure.

I can't join the discord.me server :( the button is greyed for me.

Curious, did you try typing the link into your browser?

try these:

http://steamcommunity.com/app/6060/discussions/0/613957600532345622/

http://steamcommunity.com/app/6060/guides/?searchText=crash+fix&browsefilter=trend&requiredtags%5B%5D=-1#scrollTop=0

for Windows 10:

set resolution to MAX and make sure anti-aliasing is off

other things you can try:

if you have a black screen, try this: http://prntscr.com/8288sp -http://oi65.tinypic.com/33m0x3d.jpg  (screenshot)

On Steam right click StarWars Battlefront 2 > Properties > Set launch options

And type this in:

/resolution 1920 1080

enable stereo mix

How to Enable Stereo Mix:
Start > Control Panel > Sound > Recording tab > If you don't see Stereo Mix, right click and select Show Disabled Devices > Enable Stereo Mix
(If you still don't see Stereo Mix, try to plug in a mic and enable it)
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/39532/how-to-enable-stereo-mix-in-windows-7-to-record-audio/
https://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+enable+stereo+mix&client=aff-maxthon-maxthon4&channel=t28&gws_rd=ssl

if plugging in a mic or headphones into the mic port does not make Stereo Mix show up, try downloading:
https://www.google.ca/search?site=&source=hp&q=stereo+mix+download&oq=stereo+mix+download&gs_l=hp.3..0l9.2880.7537.0.7660.23.16.2.5.5.0.122.1212.14j2.16.0....0...1c.1.64.hp..0.23.1224...0i131j0i10j0i3.WjTPLCJ_DpA

run as admin;
go to right click on the entire SWBF2 folder (located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common) and going to:
Properties > Security > Edit > Choose your User > give it full permissions by clicking the Allow on everything there > Apply. > Advanced > Add Permissions if you like > at the top change OWNER to your main User. > hit Apply. > then go back to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common > click SWBF2 > GameData > right click on SWBF2 > at the top it should say Run as Administrator, try to run it that way, if that doesn't help, right click again > go to Properties > Compatibility > Run the program in Compatibility Mode. In Security make sure you have admin rights there also, simply go to security and check. click Edit to change Permissions, click Advanced to change Owner and more Permissions just like before with the SWBF2 folder.

delete vidmode

(vidmode is located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\DATA\_LVL_PC )

plug something into microphone port

if your game only crashes on a certain map, go to: Library > right click SWBF2 > Properties > Local Files > Verify Game Cache
(this removes mods, etc btw if you have any)

if your game crashes on a modded map/etc uninstall it and reinstall.

The patch worked great up until recently, but now whenever I launch a match the game simply closes - there are no error messages and no minimized windows.  I can still get to the server list screen, it just won't load the map or even the loading screen itself.  Does anyone know how to fix this?  It seems like this problem is becoming widespread.

I messaged you on Discord. but check this link. it should fix the crashes.

add the game path to the antivirus exceptions list, make sure windows firewall is not interfering and, if none of that helps, maybe try forwarding ports. some games require people to do that, and it also depends on if the person's computer needs for it to be done or not. I know there's tutorials online on how to do this.

also, do you see the server list? try going to options > internet and add the bandwidth to max and choose both options to yes.
if you see the server list, try joining all the servers and tell me if any work.
#9
Do you have the game on steam or disc? if on steam, make sure you rename your original exe to something like BattlefrontIIOriginal.exe and rename the SWBFSpy exe to BattlefrontII.exe
if you did not do this before, your steam will pickup the original exe.

There's usually more people in the mornings for swbf2, I would say for you to check around that time :)
#11
I see. I still think you should give those fixes a try :) might help

If your game is crashing to desktop once you launch a game/after loading screen, you should check this steam thread. it has multiple fixes for this kind of problem.

Good night everyone!

There are some great news I wanted to share with all of you. Three days ago Steam lowered the price of Star Wars Battlefront II to 2.5€/2.99$ and this has boosted the SWBFSpy activity (More or less the activity has grown x2.5 times). There's someone who I'd like to thank this activity boost as well, SueKrueger. There are no words to describe how thankful I am for all your help and for promoting the project

MfG,
Community Ambassador.

The pleasure is all mine :) I'm always happy to help my favorite multiplayer for my all time favorite game :D
I keep posting about SWBFSpy in every single multiplayer related thread on Steam that I can find (since I'm also subscribed to the Steam SWBF2 forum). There were about 100 notifications and another 80 on the 5th, and 6th to 7th, many of which were multiplayer related. There were some people that complained about the multiplayer being "empty" but I told them to try a little earlier. I believe some may have ended up trying again and that's why it got more activity, which I am very happy about! :)
*I* am thankful to the whole SWBFSpy team for creating such an awesome multiplayer and having the pleasure of helping it grow in anyway I can :) Thank you!
