I haven't tried any of Eddie's maps (mostly due to the lack of screenshots) but I think I'll try them out.
I know some people really love his maps and I would like to know what you think are his best. I'm not sure why I still haven't tried them but I'm going to now! :tu:

Eddie has so many great maps, I can name several of his best. QCITY is worth trying if you haven't already.

Eddie has some brilliant maps. :) They're some of the best ones to play normal games on in my opinion.
I play less now but I'll always be around, lets keep this site and battlefront going. :)

Could I get a list of all of his maps? Or are they all on this webpage right here: http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.com/developer/Eddie;9958

Hey look! There are some SWBFII conversions of his maps... http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.com/developer/Squipple;21045

Ok! So I have successfully played through all of Eddie's maps! At least I think I played all of them...

Here is my analysis of each of Eddie's maps. Then I will compare Eddie to Rends. 8)

Jai Nollan: This map is very cool. I really love the design and the textures/props. It moves with a fast pace but you can still enjoy how the map looks. It has so many different dynamic pathways for the player and it surprised me how much of a challenge the AI were! Usually with urban fighting the AI fail to present a challenge but Eddie spent the time to make sure the map was very well playable with AI. This is definitely one of my top 5 as I had a blast playing this map.

Death Star: I went into this map with relatively low expectations and I was very impressed. It isn't very movie accurate but it is a great infantry+flying vehicles map. The battle isn't drawn out and the ships are quickly destroyed by the AA turrets. The map design is clever and provides a fun game. This was a great map and I was impressed on how well he used reskined stock props.

Dantooine: I loved this map. It shows that a simple map design can create a very fun game! It reminded me of the SWBFII Mygeeto map but had it's own twist. The speeder bikes made flanking possible and overall is one of the best infantry only maps I've played in a long time. Very nice map and if you only want to try a couple Eddie maps, make this one of those couple.

Tyranna: I really liked this map. It is pleasing to the eye and the gameplay is very nice. It isn't overloaded with AI but the battle is still present. I like the simple yet difficult concept of taking the enemie's back CP. The AI are a challenge and the terrain difference makes for some interesting battle situations. Vehicles don't overpower this map and the ships are fun to straff the enemy with. This map actually reminded me more of a Dantooine type planet but that doesn't matter. I think this is in my top 5 and I really think he did a good job.

Dathomir: Now, I didn't really like this map. I'm not a huge fan of dark/rainy maps (which this is one of) and that probably has something to do with it. The map design is wonderful but I felt like there just wasn't enough AI to meet my combat needs. It has a charm to it but that charm is not to my liking. Don't get me wrong it is a good map, but it had to many things that I just don't enjoy that much in a SWBFI map.

Q-City: This map was okay. A lot like Dathomir it is a very solid map with nice gameplay. But I didn't feel like I was fighting in a city, let alone a city that looked like it was in Star Wars. The lighting wasn't that great and the gameplay didn't appeal to me. It had more gameplay like this- small squads duking it out with other small squads of troopers in a city. Tanks included in some battle situations. This could be very fun online due to that play style of the map but I don't like that play style that much. Like I said above it is a great map, it just didn't appeal the same way to me that for example Abridon: City does.

Base 42: Very, very fun map! I love the design of the actual base and the outlying CP's and terrain were quite nice. The combat is close and intense and no one unit has a huge advantage. I really liked how he utilized Hoth tunnel props and Yavin IV props. It really is a fun map for those who like close quarters maps. It's even more awesome when you drive a tank into the base! I really had a blast playing this and it is in my top 5.

Kastel: Great map. Lots of fun and very intense. The map design in wonderful and it is something I haven't seen in SWBF before. The gameplay is infantry only with some turrets. I like the different pathways you can take to get to the CP's and is has some wonderful urban combat. The AI provide quite a challenge!

Italia: Nice map with some great areas. The gameplay is quick and intense. The AI weren't too much of a challenge and I think 2 exits to the back CP's would work better. The map is very fun though and fun to look around. This is a great map and I enjoyed the quick action that came with it.

EDIT:

Death Star (part B): This is another Death Star map by Eddie and is completely different than his first Death Star map. I didn't like this one as much and I'll tell you why. In his first DS map there was a nice circulation of ships in the sky and the battle on the ground was simple, yet difficult. His different approach to a DS map was stale. There weren't nearly enough ships, I did't like the design as much compared to the first one and I felt that the map was too big and had no uniformity. It's a good map, but not my favorite and I won't be keeping it in my addon folder.

Phew! So here are my top 5 Eddie maps.

1) Tyranna
2) Base 42
3) Jai Nollan
4) Dantooine
5) Kastel

Alright! Now I'm going to compare Rends to Eddie. I'm doing this because I hold Rends maps very highly but now that I've played Eddie's maps I'm not sure if that is still the case! Read ahead!

Rends is a great mapper, but so is Eddie! But which is better. Are any of them better? Here is my analysis of (in my opinion) the greatest SWBFI mappers of all time.

Rends maps do things that no other custom (custom as in original design) SWBFI maps can do. He makes them feel like they are meant to be in SWBFI. They feel professional and utilize stock SWBFI sides and vehicles to make great gameplay. The maps feel unique and they remind me of the films. This is what I like most about Rends. He does a great job of making all of his work feel like the Battlefront we all know and love. They all have very memorable features about them and each of his maps has something unique to offer. From his Coruscant: City and Abridon: City maps, which make you feel like you are in a city fighting a huge battle. To his Coruscant: Sreets and Kashyyyk: Wookieeland maps which make great infantry combat which never gets old. Rends maps have a special charm. His charm is very similar to the charm SWBFI had/has and that is why his maps fit so well with the game.

Eddie's maps have extremely original design and also utilizes stock vehicles and sides to make pleasurable gameplay. He is able to make his concepts come reality and make them great maps to play. He might not make maps that look like/feel like Star Wars but they use the SWBFI engine great. His maps are great for those who love infantry/close quarters and large maps that have the "small squad fighting" in them. Instead of relying on previously created planets that have lots of referance material, Eddie goes out on a limb and creates maps for planets that no one has seen much of, like Dantooine or Dathomir, and creates completely new situations that have nothing to do with Star Wars! Like Base 42 and Kastel. Eddie's maps might not feel like they came with the vanilla SWBFI, but once they hit your addon folder they won't ever leave. His maps are great for those who want something new and for people who could care less what Star Wars is, they want Battlefront! Overall Eddie's maps have things that no other mapper has.

So who is a better mapper? Eddie or Rends? Yes. The answer is yes. Their maps both offer unique concepts and styles which makes them enjoyable. They can't be compared because they aren't of the same genre. It's like comparing and movie to a TV show and holding them to the same standards. Or a TV show to a sport. Both are amazing mappers who offer so much in each of their maps.

Ok! This is all opinion based of course and that is my analysis of Eddie's maps and Eddie vs Rends mapping abilities.

And I figured out why I hadn't played Eddie's maps yet, they were all in .exe format which I couldn't expand until about a year ago. Then I forgot about Eddie's maps.

Eddie's maps are epic, my favorites goes
1) Jai Nollan
2) Qcity
3) Tynna
4) Italia
5) Kastel

Rends is a great mapper but I prefer Eddie's maps a bit more overall. Coruscant Streets is my favorite Rends map.

Well I discovered something. Eddie actually made 2 Death Star maps!  :slap:

So I went and played it. I have added my "review" in my long post above.

Also I saw a SWBFII video for one of my favorite Eddie maps converted for SWBFII. But when I watched the video, the map didn't look like Tyanna at all!

Does anyone know were I can find this other Tyanna map made by Eddie? Or did the converted change so much to make it unrecognizable...

Not the best voice I've ever heard..
Also, if you aren't fond of profanity, you might be careful watching this one.

Anyways, does anyone recognize this map?

We are trying to archive all of Eddie's maps on SWBFGamers. I think there were 10 total. 3 more maps are needed to complete the archive: Tynna, Dathomir, and Q-City. If anyone has these mod map archives, please upload them or post a link here for us

I have the world LVL for Tynna and Q-City but not the AddOn files anymore, these files are attached to the post.

I'll upload Q city now, I've got the original auto installer version.

Out of interest how do I upload folders? I tried to upload the map on it's own but I can only open the folder.

Edit: Also uploaded Dathomir: http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=1428
                             Q City: http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=1427
I play less now but I'll always be around, lets keep this site and battlefront going. :)

Maybe compress the folder as a zip archive.
