IMO scores should be altered depending on how many rounds played so that things like that don't make the game unfair to those who've been there the whole time.

You mean averaging the scores out by how many rounds played? That goes to the advantage of the person who play less still. If Joe plays 4 rounds and has a score of 20 and Bob plays 2 rounds and has a score of 20, Bob has 10 points and Joe has 5.
