Hello. I've joined here to seek help downloading gamemaster. I manage to download the files, but cannot extract them to the gamedata folder of bf2. And renaming the file doesn't appear to help. WinRAR keeps saying access denied every time I try to extract the files. Appreciate any help any of you can offer.

I'd be glad to help. :) Here is what you need to do, extract it on your desktop then drag the file into your game, but first you will probably want to back up your original exe. Rename the current file to something else, then when you drag the new file in, rename it to: Battlefront There you go! :tu:

Hi. Thank you both for your help. Yes, my game is in English. The game's menus are in upper case e.g. singleplayer is SINGLEPLAYER. Not sure if that means its a different version or anything. Going to try what you said now Norwood.

My brother also experienced that change when he changed to the gamemaster english patch

Hi. Thanks for the link Anyder.
I'm still having problems though. I will run through what I'm doing: I use WinRAR to extract the BattlefrontII.exe file to desktop, rename the existing exe file to BattlefrontIIGAMESPY.exe, then copy the BattlefrontII.exe file from desktop which appears as 'BattlefrontII' and then paste it into the BattlefrontIIGAMESPY.exe folder. As soon as I paste it the game appears to launch but stays in a blank screen. I then have to go into task manager to get off the blank screen and I see a Fatal message: could not open mission lvl.
Don't really know what to do at this point.

Umm what a weird problem...
U just have to replace the downloaded BattlefrontII.exe file with the old one, which u must have in here:
C:/Program Files (or Program Files (x86))/LucasArts/Star Wars Battlefront II/GameData

Make sure u dont replace it with the LaunchBFII.exe file!

I get another message which comes up with 'the program can't start because bink32dll is missing from your computer, try reinstalling the program to fix this problem'. And I've reinstalled the game several times so far.
The game plays, I've used it over a few weeks on this machine so I can't really understand why this isn't working.

Did ur game work before you tried this ? Because replacing one exe file cannot be the reason of all these problems =/

The bink error is because you have replaced the incorrect file.

Yeah the game worked more or less perfectly. I'm pretty sure I've not mistakenly put the file in the launch folder. And I can play the game normally, singleplayer still.

EDIT

I've got it working now... May expect to see pigs flying some time soon. Thanks for the help guys.

Good to know!

Please tell us what you did to get it to work, as this is a common error that comes up.
