SWBF1 Modding / .tga files error

i have downloaded bfbuilder and installed it completely the way it should be installed but there are some errors, the first is i cant open .tga files. This is extremely weird since i COULD open them 2 years ago.. I still use the same pc.. But i decided to see if i couldnt fix it myself and it turns out the .tga protocol is not being recognised by my computer. When i try to open a .tga file, it says that there is no program connected to this file and that i should fix this by bringing a link between gimp and the .tga file. but when i try to do this, the .tga file doesnt show up in the list of all the .txt and such. this is extremely weird and i would like to get this fixed, otherwise i wont be able to skin things ..

edit: nevermind found a solution, this can be closed..

hi there!

I have thought about a mod i could made for the CIS, and I have asked myself what droid models there are in swbf? I know there is the standard droid, the super battledroid and the droideka. But are there any else models who are ready to use?

hey guys!

I joined this community around 2 years ago, was actively modding but quit it because i was sick..
But now im back and interested in modding once again! I already have some ideas for some mods, and also have an old idea lying around (if you are interested, its a jedi side mod-all details are almost worked out)

i would love playing with you guys again! Could you be so kind to inform me of new major modding tools updates and major works released over the past 2 years? the very big ones alone are enough :P

edit: oh and about the title, im very interested in the jet trooper, and i think that will be the first step into my modding 'career', so can anyone direct me to a good jet trooper skin/mod? thanks!

hey guys, i have come up with a new unit idea

its a jedi 'assassin' XD


do some of you know the assassins creed series?

if you do, then you must know ezio/altair/connor

i saw recently a photo of an edited assassin (like ezio/altair/connor) but
their hidden blades were replaced with tiny little jedi swords
i would give him ofcourse an 'upgraded' version of the sniper rifle (i will do that myself)

for me it is, thats why i want to create him for swbf1

i need help with modeling, skinning the assassin, and give him the hidden jedi blade (i already tried to do it but it turns out it isnt easy :p)

SWBF1 Modding / [HELP] swbf2 animations of yoda

hey guys,

im busy with a mod where there are 'dark' jawas, i already skinded them and everything, but

i want to give the jawa the swbf2 animations of yoda (the jawas have lightsabers)

yoda and the jawas have the same length ( :D) , so that shouldnt be a problem, no?

if someone could import his animations when he attacks with lightsaber (the normal swbf1 attack isn't that cool) so that they DO fight cool

if someone could do this for me or if someone could tell me how to do it myself?


edit:

does somebody now knows how i can import yodas laser fighting animations to swbf1?
the link that snake gave was broken and i dont know how to import it

What are .option files?

i encountered them in the msh folder of the side builder

Do i need to open this to change the tga of a soldier?

hi guys, i've been working over 3 weeks on this map

readme:

This is the beta version of my self created map called REBELS: RETURN TO HOTH 002

This is a map about a group of rebels returning to hoth after a training on yavin IV.
Their transport ship crashes near their base, so they have to go further on foot .

Under command of luke skywalker, the group of rebels enters a network of caves, there, they disturb
the o-so-feared wampas.
They have to fight all the wampas before they can continue their journey, will you be helping the rebels,
or will we see you fighting them?
It's all up to you.


This map is rebels vs wampas,

the rebels have 3 different units; the pilot, the trooper and luke skywalker
the wampas have 2 different units; the 'normal' wampa and the chieff wampa

There are 4 cps, 2 in the caves, and 2 outside the caves (the crashed rebel ship and
the wampa's dinner room)


REMEMBER, THIS IS STILL A BETA VERSION OF THE MAP, SO THERE ARE A COUPLE OF BUGS IN IT, THE AI ISN'T PERFECT
AND OTHER THINGS, I WILL REMOVE THEM IN THE FINAL VERSION OF THE MAP


INSTALL: put the all and imp.lvls in the side folder, the mission in the _LVL_PC folder and the reb002
folder in the addon folder. (remember to backup the originals first so you don't need to reinstall
you game)

hey, i got a problem with the wampas

i changed the skins of the storm troopers of the empire in the skins of the wampas, but whenever i try to play the wampa, there is this weird image, here a screenshot:


can somebody help me to fix this, i would really appreciate this

Hey, i am making a new map/mod serie, and therefor i need lots of different jedi skins/weapons

so, if someone knows/has jedi skins (tga and msh) and gives it/the link to me then i would be really glad

if you want to know what im making, its about the rise of a jedi , Benjara (im guessing it will be around 6-9 maps to have the full story round)

more information later, but i do want those skins

so i appreciate them

SWBF1 Modding / [SOLVED] mod map problem

hey, im having a bit of a trouble with a map im creating

in my map i created a large icy tunnel like the one in rhen var, in the bfbuilder, everything is perfect, no empty spaces or nothing, but ingame, all the tunnels are on a different place, making it impossible to play in it
example: there is a T form ice tunnel, and there is also a turn ice tunnel attached to it, normally, you should walk perfect through those 2 tunnels, but, ingame, the 2 tunnels overleap each other????

anyone know how to fix this?

I am now making a new map called return of the rebels, its about rebels returning from a mission back to Hoth, but their transport ship has crashed (1)
they go further on foot through the cold icy world to their base, wich is 2km far
they encounter wampas (2) and they have to fight them to get to their base

this map is rebel vs wampas (imperials) (3)

the () means that i need help with that

(1) does someone know where i can find a crashed transport ship?                  found x

(2) can someone ship a wampa from swbf2 hunt mode in hoth to swbf1?         found x

(3) how do i add the wampas to the mission.lvl or side.lvl?                       


and does someone knows how to modify the mission.lvl????
i have downloaded the battlebelks modtools, but i don't understand it

hey guys,

I wanted to be a modder so i downloaded bamdurs bfbuilder pro

the thing is, that whenever i try to create a map (on the menu where you need to put in the map name) i cant create it

It's maybe because i dont have any folder for the bfbuilder and on his video where he explains how to create a map, he has lots of sub folders

Does anyone knows where to get these folders? (example: i want to insert a building from bespin to my new map, so i need to open a folder called 'maps'. And i don't have those maps)

When i try to join a game from the list, it loadsd but then there is a message saying :

Your CD key is not authorized to play this game

I just bought and installed the game.
There are lots of other people having the same problem, i really (now more then ever) want to play the multiplayer

I have the same bug as many players on swbf2 have, that after the patch 1.1 the game wont start anymore :td:
Then i thought i just won't install the patch and play the game without it; but then, when i try to play the multiplayer, there are no available servers.

I REALLY want to play multiplayer, pls help
