Public Square / Player numbers

How many players do y'all average on good times? Haven't played this game in a couple years, I'm way out of the loop.

Phobos a moderator at SWBFgamers.com...that's a good one.

I think you are mistaking this forum for some other forum...

My recollection is that you have never been a problem in this forum, and have not been censored here.  Let's keep it reasonable.

Phobos was here as long as he kept himself reasonable on this forum and to this website.  It had nothing to do with his mods--mods that no one here used.  (His toolbox compilations were useful.)

Call out the moderators Mart, go ahead.  I'd like to hear what you think--and I will be sure to set the record straight if needed.
I thought I remembered seeing his name right below forum staff for a while when I logged in, but I could be wrong—this was years ago.

I'm keeping it reasonable, most of what I remember is from the top of my head, so it is not 100% fact. Merely discussion. I don't have any intention of not being civil.

Although you seem to disagree, it's obvious Phobos was given leeway due to his modding contributions to the community. Had any other player crashed as many servers, wrote backhanded flaming on the forum, doxed kids, as he did during the time, had obvious use of radar, I believe they would've been banned/had comments deleted way earlier. It took a whole lot of flaming behavior for him to finally get the boot from the community. A lot of you guys in the community turned a blind eye towards his behavior until it was finally directed towards personal territory. I highly doubt it was for any other reason besides his mods, that's all he had to offer. Phobos revealed his true colors long, long ago and although we warned people, nothing happened.

Question, if I asked for anyone's IP address, would a mod be allowed to give it to me? According to Phobos a few years ago, a moderator confirmed my IP address to him. I'm not sure why I believed him then, but more than likely he handed over evidence that supported that conclusion. I'm not going to reveal any names, I just want to know if one of my grievances had any substance to it. .

I could go read previous posts to jog my memory about other occurrences, given this was years ago, but it's not worth the effort—I'm not gonna go digging up stuff just to get someone in trouble/look bad, I'm not petty. Those who experienced the same injustices or are willing to look back at threads will come up with their own reasonable conclusion. If my thoughts are not believed so be it.

The community here had rules then and they do now.

"Opinions being suppressed" is not the same as censoring and stopping fights. The moderators here did and still do a good job and stopped those incidents from getting much worse, no matter who started them.

Actually, it is the same. Censoring arguments equates to opinions being suppressed, whether that was the intended purpose or not. Especially when you're not allowed to share your side of the story. I'm not sure why you're so defensive on this topic.

Given as Phobos was once a moderator.... I don't think they all did a good job. Clearly, there were favorites due to Phobos being a highly contributive member in regards to mods. I won't call out any names besides his, though. Like I said, the past is the past. No one is perfect, especially not a group of people. Seems like the mods are doing a very good job of handling the place as of late, given there aren't really any factions.

General / mart and birdo discussions

mood. for like anytime anyone ever took rages side over ours lol
I feel you Birdo. It was such a sucky feeling being painted as the enemy when he was the one using gruesome tactics. Of course, some of reacted in a not so cordial manner on this website when our opinions were suppressed, granted most of us were teens at that time and didn't know how to express our grievances properly. Oh well, the past is the past. I'm glad we can all come to an agreement about his true nature. The best thing we can do is ignore him, it's obvious he wants attention. This is the only thing he has in life—poor chap.

Other Games / Re: Fortnite
April 16, 2019, 10:58:04 AM
I've been playing fortnite as well! It's very similar to SWBF imo, except for the building. I play on mobile so I can't give you any tips on controls. It's good to always shoot and build right after to give you the high ground. Rinse and repeat. This method has gotten me 1000+ wins and over 17000+ kills.

A few things you've got to practice on to get good: Editing, Building (90's, 180's, wall/floor/ramp/ rush), Aim, Switching weapons. If you need any specific tips LMK. Anyone is free to PM me their IGN so we can run a few games together and represent SWBF.

Forum News and Forum Rules / Re: Player of the Month

Also, to take kills per minute into account would be worse - someone could just join one server, get 20 kills in a minute, and then never show up again.  It defeats the purpose of activity.

I said take KPM into account--not completely base it off those statistics. That would defeat the purpose of the activity.

For example, let's say the top 3 players based on kills had scores of 1,200, 1,178, and 1140. However, number one had a KPM of .95 and number two had a KPM of 3.45. In this situation, I'd say number two is player of the month, especially if it took number one a longer time to reach that number.

It's only a suggestion of course, as I don't see why Player of the Month should solely be based on the number of kills. Not like I have any personal stake in this and the current leader, Eternal, seems to be in good standing in both categories.

Quote from: Anyder on December 16, 2017, 08:04:34 AM
It is player of the month, not "top skilled". People can get the #1 place by either spending hours or just killing a lot.

Exactly, player of the month, not "Most kills", which was why I suggested adding more to it.

General / The Last Jedi [Spoilers]
December 15, 2017, 11:46:43 PM
What did you guys think about the latest Star Wars Movie, The Last Jedi?

My thoughts:

Snoke died way too easily. I was disappointed, I expected to see him fight and was looking forward to seeing him in the rest of the trilogy. In addition, he had almost no background information. Who was he before TFA? The answer to this question was the main reason I watched TLJ.

They didn't give enough information about the Jedi defectors who joined Kylo Ren, which I suspect were the Knights of Ren. It would have been cool to see them but I'm guessing we'll be seeing them in the next movie.

Please tell me what Kylo Ren said about Rey's parents was false. I'm hoping there's more to it.

I almost puked when I saw Leia survive the space battle and slowly fly towards the ship. Seriously, there was no need for this. It would have been the perfect way to finish her off. RIP Admiral Ackbar, you'll be missed.

At the beginning, General Hux's scenes were way too comedic. Some comedy is good but they were annoying about it. He's a general for christ sake. When did we ever see this incompetent side from the Empire? We didn't.

Captain Phasma... where do I start?

At the very least, the movie wasn't too similar with TESB.

Those are pretty much my only negative thoughts on the movie. I thought the smuggler guy would be like another Han Solo since he only cared about himself. But I don't think Han Solo would ever go to those lengths. I almost teared up when I saw Finn flying into the destroyer thing, the writers did a really good job with that one, although I would have preferred that either he or Rose died. I also liked the little matching necklace Rose had with her sister. Her sacrifice was a beauty to watch, along with Vice Admiral Holdo, whom I initially thought was a traitor. She showed Poe how courageous she actually was. Chewbacca eating one of those Prog's was hilarious. The little kid at the end was a nice touch.

All in all, it wasn't horrible, but it could have been better.

I think it would be nice to take kills per minute into account as well when giving out the awards. IMO, that shows a greater indication of skill rather than the amount of time played, which would most likely correlate with the most kills.

I'm interested. I don't get on much but when I do it's a ghost-land.

It's been a while since I've played SWBF, so I'm curious. I recall logging into SWBF a few times last year, however, no one was ever active during those times. Has it changed?

If not [dead], what are the majority of players composed of? Europeans? Americans? What's the typical number of players per day?

I'm about to be finished with my first year of college, so I'm looking forward to playing again for a while if there's still some activity.

That's what you've both had though and it's petty and melodramatic. Focus on this weekends battles and not your clan tag that you've worn with pride over the last 6 weeks! Come on! Game hard! Have fun!!!
Yes, because he keeps commenting lol, but i muted him so I won't respond to him anymore. I only wanted to post once for Bomber to see. Yes I have worn it for pride, and I am keeping it prideful this way. Keep trying to be "that guy" though  :tu:

Says the one with 44days online in the website lol - http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?action=profile;area=statistics;u=1971
Compare urs to mine (and I'm an older website user lol)
Nixo posted the 212 roster so that u'd team up with Enten, what means its some kind of clan alliance.
I do not know of any PLA member who has played much for us LOL, just check this pic which shows the FC Players and the mercenaries who played for FC. (Probably there might be one person who played once for us and is not listed, UNIT 33)
And also one of the mercenaries is gonna become a FC member after ICW lol

Again, you've proven my point by stalking me.
No, it's not a clan alliance, its some of our players playing for En'ten, say what you want though, your opinion is irrelevant.
I didn't say any PLA played much for you guys, I've just said that PLA members have played for you guys, just as 212 members have played for En'ten, clans OUTSIDE the tournament. No one cares if you add another member to a clan of a 10 year old game lol, good for you though!
@Anyder,  muting you so I won't catch what you say next. Don't want to have a whole discussion about removing my clan's name.  why you keep posting I have no idea, Bomber is the lead admin..

Lol. He's not doing it cause of what nixo posted. You didnt ask nixo to change it back when u had to post your roster (If u had told him in the clan sign up time im sure he'll remove it right now, but u said that u were gonna play with/for enten so, it has to remain like this.

Also,it's not that im a higher rank, im a leader lol, and I will not kick him cause he changes the name of a team.
Lol change my name to Mart? Shows how much time you have to waste. quite considerate of you. Nixo said we would be playing FOR En'ten, not that 212 was participating in the tournament as a clan. We would have different plans if it were 212 as a clan. And good for him!
Quote from: [FC]BoMbeR on August 10, 2015, 05:24:09 AM
The reason I removed it before is because he added 212 to an attack against Alpha, since it's a attack on En'Ten I don't really see the problem since 212 is participating with En'Ten. I will however remove {AR} since that clan has said nothing about participating with En'Ten.
With this logic you'd have to put PLA/FC, PLA/YAK, PLA/PFA. En'ten is in the tournament, not 212, are you this willing to do Anyder's bidding that you don't understand? P.S I will only comment after  you post not after anyder since it'll probably be the same thing again. If some 212 happened to not want to play for En'ten, we would let him.. Since 212 is not in the tournament as the clan, though some of us choose to be in En'ten, that shouldn't matter though, what clan they come from as long as it is not in the tournament is not important, do I have to be clearer?

AR the clan is not participating, just because one member is playing doesn't mean the clan should be listed. Since he is on their list he counts as a member and not a merc. When he does play he could use {AR}Spieler1_En'Ten but I'm not going to enforce it. He's on the list so it doesn't matter.
We play for them, En'ten, not 212 in the tournament. Remove it please, we aren't in this tournement as a clan for many reasons :-) we would only play as a team  if it were fair
Also I don't understand your unwillingness to move it? I am a leader of 212.. I know Anyder has higher rank than you in FC and he might kick you out of FC but still, I asked nicely.
