Title: HOW TO: Join a Direct Connection Server
Post by: Led on January 27, 2012, 06:24:53 PM
First, be sure you have all the maps needed for the server.  You must have all of them that are in play or else you wont be able to join any of them.

Start SWBF, select Multiplayer, then select DIRECT CONNECTION.

Type in the IP address, and hit JOIN.

If all goes well, you will be able to play.

With direct connection, both MAC and PC players can play at the same time.

----------------------------------
Special Note for Installing mod Maps:

Instructions for Mod Maps

extract the file(s) and
place the contents into the battlefront Addon folder,
usually located at:
C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront\GameData\AddOn

You may only have about 20-25 maps in the addon folder.  Move extra maps EXCEPT tat3 to a new location.

====> you must have all maps in play to join

IMPORTANT:  there should already be a folder called Tat3 in your Addon folder

NEVER delete or move this folder!  It is Jabbas palace.

Note:   you must have all maps hosted by the server in order to join any of them.

Funny, I play and mod this game many years, but never click "multiplayer" button. I try this, and it ask me for IP (some numbers was already wrotten there, is it IP?), and password (interesting, where I can get it?). I wonder, how it works?

It's just like connecting to a game through clicking Internet or LAN, except that you put the address in mannually.

The IP is the IP of the server you want to connect to.
You would get that IP address from whoever is hosting the Direct Connect server.

The password is for the password of the server.
If it doesn't have a password, just leave it blank.
You would get the password from whoever is hosting the Direct Connect server.
