General / Chrome update blocks downloads

I have been referring people to other browsers, but if you are using Chrome, and you click on a link and nothing happens (no redirect, no "page not found", just nothing happens), this could be it.
The server the downloads are serviced from is an http webpage, while much of SWBFgamers runs on https.  Two things will fix the problem:
  • Use a different browser like Edge or Firefox
  • Take the link to the download page, and remove the "s" from "https" (now it is http)
The download button should work then.

Since the last time I posted here, I've tried to make some cool things happen with this Userpatch, one of which being Galactic Conquests.  We're slowly getting there!  Just wanted to show off one of the cool things that has happened - revival of an old GC screen from demos:
Custom GC editing is currently in the works as well. Stay tuned

If you haven't already noticed (and I really hope you noticed), SWBFgamers has undergone a drastic overhaul.  There's a message on the front page but a forum post seemed appropriate as well.

This was caused by an upgrade to SMF to the newest release candidate.  There are still minor issues that are being resolved, but I have restored most of the old functionality and packages with updated versions.  We have been having random issues since we moved hosts, so we went the full upgrade route and it seems to have resolved many of the issues we have been having with the database (and other areas as well).  This is not the final look for the website, it's just the first theme I found that doesn't burn my eyes out and it doesn't look like the old themes are going to work.

If you notice any issues, please let us know here.  Otherwise, bear with us as we add back in the custom SWBFgamers flair that we've all come to know and love.

Does exactly what the title says, enables freecam in pause menu for the Steam version, because the other one that keeps getting downloaded is for 1.2, which crashes.

Stock core xbox builder by Dark_Phantom

This folder can rebuild the stock Xbox core.lvl by just going into _BUILD and hitting "xbox_mungecore.bat" - this will use the /common flag (which contains the core.lvl munge) and rebuild the core.lvl, which can then be located in _LVL_XBOX.

editlocalize.bat will edit the main localization keys for the game.
editlocalize-xbox-override.bat will edit the xbox specific localization keys

I have put Teancum's localize folder in Common\Localize\TEANCUM-LOCALIZE  --> it has a lot of extra weight but it may be better for your use case, considering the files in here are pre-patch/DLC.  Just replace the files in the main folder and the Xbox folder with his.

xbox_modelmunge is not needed for this (only error generated)
I've stripped it down to only what is needed or if I wasn't sure something wouldn't break the munger, there were a bunch of extra files that didn't relate to the core.lvl.

I am working with my stream to make this a regular thing - Mondays on SWBFspy.
Currently, I will be hosting them on the BOBclan Server, I will be on in about an hour (4:30pm EST) and I'm usually there for 2 hours but I leave the server up.  If you're interested in watching the stream,


I am still experimenting with stuff on the server, right now it's a classic fairsides/no cp modded server.  Kamino is kinda my test bed for now - I might try some random scenarios on other maps too, as well as coordinate mod maps in the future.

All of these maps were directly converted from the March 12th Xbox build of Battlefront 1.  Maps are generally kept faithful to the original and may exhibit strange issues.  For example, there is a lot of broken collision for the Theed buildings. This was present in the Xbox version and is outside the scope of this mod.

hot1beta (Hoth) - issues with terrain cutter beta format make it impossible to get back in Echo Base/tunnels.  This issue also occurs on Dune Sea but was not as noticeable
rhn2beta (Rhen Var: Citadel) - I'm not sure why, but it's possible that materials are being used that aren't in the final game, leading to large loss of textures.  The design is the same but when I tried to debug the assets I got no further.  The map is playable, it just looks... really bad.

Maps can be placed straight in the addon folder and should work out-of-the-box.  Individual downloads are available on SWBFgamers.

This is the beta build that should be almost exactly the same as the Xbox SWTrilogy Bonus Disc.  I have converted it totally and I don't see any issues, although it looks extremely bright compared to the original.  Hey look, a log trap!

ISSUES: None really.  There's supposedly water somewhere but I couldn't find it on this desert planet.

FUN FACTS: There's a landspeeder for the rebels if you capture the derelict, which exists in the stock all.lvl.  I didn't know this.  Also, localization exists in the stock game for the Customs and the Derelict!

ISSUES: There really aren't any other than this map just doesn't seem balanced at all.  Now, if I did a "Sides Rework" then that could be fixed.  I believe the LAAT gunship is totally useless here on PC, but it does a ton more damage on the Xbox release version, as does the Geonosian Fighter.  The ATTE also has less health on the Xbox release version.  These three "fixes" might make this map better.
It's good fun for the dude in the ATTE though.

ISSUES: The AATs in Clone Wars don't go anywhere without human interaction.  Run the map in SPTest and you will be inundated with "No valid positions for type [MEDIUM] radius [7.07] in node [Hub28]".  I believe this is a relatively quick fix if anyone wants to unmunge the map.  Physically, the AAT can go on the path, just the pathing isn't set up right for it.  (This does not happen in Galactic Civil War with AT-ST walkers).
Soundspace error for the temple, not really that concerned about it.

ISSUES: Extra water layers are still present but do not seem to function. (e.g. Fountains and waterfall).  I probably will not fix this, as there is no direct example to pull from in the release version, but it does not crash the game now.
Sound discrepancies on GCW because I needed a sound file with ATST and Combat Speeder.  It shouldn't be noticable but it bothers me.

This map plays pretty well, even though it is large (and it could probably still benefit from more AI).  There are some clear bugs and glitches if you look for them, but overall, in my opinion, it was solid before being scrapped.

Demo (March build) Sounds from Side files

In this download are the decompiled CIS_snd and REP_snd files included with the leaked March 2004 build of the game.  Many of the sounds have no names and are left with their hex representations.  They have already been converted to standard 16 bit wav format.  There are sounds included in the world files but I haven't gotten around to all of them yet.
