Dead Servers???

Hey crew,

I haven't played SWBF for like 10 years and was super hyped when I found this. I'm running on a PC that doesn't have an optical drive so it's just a mounted program, but I downloaded all of the files and the servers have started to show up.

One problem... there's nobody else. All of the servers are empty. I went on this website and it seems like it's not just me, it comes up as 0 on here too for the 3 days I've had it.

Did everyone move to a different service? Are there non-PC dedicated servers that would allow me to get on with PS2 people? Where is everyone? I know I'm not the only one who likes these servers or there wouldn't be an active website dedicated to them.

Well, we have SWBFspy mondays...but most players use the GoG servers since the re-release of SWBF on steam/GoG.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet

If you're in our discord server, feel free to ping people and let them know you're online -- see if they're down to play.

Every Monday at 4:30pm EST or thereabouts, I host custom servers on SWBFspy.  This game is definitely at the "organize a get-together" stage of its lifecycle, but we still manage anywhere from 4-10 players then.
I wish there was another way, but drop-in and play at anytime is probably gone (even on the more populated Steam version, which I do hope to have a solution to ping for active servers someday).

The Discord or the "Games" section on here is the best place to organize one nowadays for SWBFspy, and you can try posting on the Steam forums but I've not had much success there.

Is there a way to access those servers if I am not running SWBF through Steam?

This is for the disc version, the instructions are included.
For the Steam version, there are some extra steps to run SWBFspy, but the files are the same.

Hey guys, I am still relatively new to these games and this community and have just now gotten the SWBFSpy patch installed on the original Battlefront 2. I don't use Discord so I can't just ask if anyone is available to play at any given moment. I think the idea of having scheduled times to play a few games is a good idea that should be expanded upon. Such as asking the community (Maybe on the homepage of this website?) if could play a few games at, say, 4:00 pm (CST) on a Saturday when (I'm assuming) more people would be able to get on for a few games of conquest or capture the flag. I think if you wanted to do some during weekdays that would also be pretty neat, but the drawback is that some people have sports practice or scouts for themselves or their kids, and during the school year people would have less time for things like this, especially during certain sports seasons where there's basically a competition or tournament every week/weekend. So maybe a few games on the weekend and a few spread throughout the week would get more people playing consistently. (Sorry for the rambling on about a simple concept, still new to using forums like this)

Hello and welcome to the forums.
I think Anyder has organized a regular game on Sundays for BF2, and I do games at 4:30 EST on Mondays for BF1.

If there's a better time for you, I suggest you organize and post it here. I know your heart is in the right place, but unless there's somebody to run it and commit to it every week (which you can do!), it's going to be difficult to get another day together.

Let us know if you have any questions.

What time is the one on Sundays? That might work a little better for me. I'll try and check that out this Sunday if I can. I might try running a second one some other day if I can find a time that I am consistently able to get on and run it. I would also first need to learn how running my own works before I could attempt it.

Welcome to the site. A few of us also play Saturdays at 6pm gmt (1est) on European servers on swbfspy. The good news is that swbfgamers always has servers online so if you want to organise a group of players you can just hop on those. You don't have to worry about hosting unless you want something specific.

Steam has players on most evenings (UK time) and often on Saturdays but unfortunately it's mostly private games with passwords and although you can get 10-20 players, they're spread out.
I play less now but I'll always be around, lets keep this site and battlefront going. :)

Good night MonkeyOld26,

I guess you probably haven't checked our info website, but I included fixed times for events in the games we support. Just go to the following link:

http://info.swbfgamers.com/events.html

Also, you don't need to be in our discord server, but I made sure to post the MP Sundays for SWBF2 and the MP Mondays for SWBF1 in our Steam website as well:

https://steamcommunity.com/groups/swbfspy/events

Please, if you want to organise any sort of events, reach anyone in the contact page and we'll do our best to run it

It didn't even occur to me to check there. Thank you for the help! I will definitely try to hit both of those events next week. Until then I'll just be on when I can with whatever server happens to show up first. This is a great community and I hope to be active for a long while. I guess I am done on this topic, (for now) as all my questions have been answered. Thank you again.
