The Fairsides server was a mission mod using Battebelks mission tool.

You can make it yourself, or if I can dig it up I will post it for you, or else make it again for you--
but it would have to be later this weekend.

Welcome.  We focus on SWBF the original here, but many things are the same.

There are many resources here for helping your learn how to mod.

What kinds of mods would you like to make?  New maps, new guns, apply original weapons to other units, make new skins or models?

Let us know and we can point you in the right direction.

SWBF1 Modding / Re: Common.lvl editing
March 26, 2011, 06:18:23 PM
IMP side builder is a set of changed ODF files that updates the IMP sides for 1.2 instead of the 1.0 files available in the original mod tools download.

There were some slight changes to jet recharge time and a couple of other things.

A winRAR extractor will uncompress 7z.

But anyway, I second the motion for a common.lvl tutorial

The server is already set up with CW Bespin CC for a buffer.

I might be late-please carry on if I can't make it on time.

Hope to see you there!

well, I solved my problem which was related to the map name being different that the mod id.

The localization keys on secret society are down.

But Bamdur has a fairly comprehensive list in his core tool.

I will lock this topic

yes, upload speed is for hosting,
download speed is for playing

Oh, and please use "Modify" instead of double posting :)

The best bandwidth that the game allows is 3 MB+

But, you may not have that available.

go to
www.speedtest.net

and see what your UPLOAD speed is.

does anyone have a list of the localization keys?

secretsociety is down :(

edit:

http://www.4shared.com/get/uHtR5jsy/Corelvl_tool.html;jsessionid=2BF34E44BEBD80A5BC199A0EE55F5DBD.dc323

is a link to bamdurs tool, it says it works on 32 bit systems

-------------------------

Localization problem solved:

The issue was that I was using a stock map called bespin2 in my modid directory called ewok01
I used the mod tools localization tool to add names of locals, but it did not register until I changed the default
ewok01 key to the bespin2 key.

thanks to bamdur for helping me out with his core tool--its nice!

I am taking a stock map and editing it through zero editor to have a local faction.  Can you point me to a tutorial?  I have never used the core level tool.

Thanks
