Hi everyone!

I've created this post because I have a problem. Yesterday I downloaded the official LucasArts software to create dedicated SWBF 1 servers, because I was interested in trying to create one. When I give "start" from the Battlefront Server.exe, Battlefront.exe window appears, but the following message appears: "Battlefront.exe stopped working". I tried to do the same with compatibility mode set in Windows XP Service Pack 3 and even by running as an administrator, but I get the same error.

My computer has Windows 10 64-bit, although I have concluded that it may be some kind of compatibility issue.

If anyone knows whether it is possible fix, help me please!!!
Any contribution will be well received.

Regards.

For one thing, you will need to update the server exe file so that it uses SWBFspy (or else use a hosts file edit method) if you want to use the internet server option.

The server does work and I have used it for the last 10 years on various windows versions.

You might try copying the contents of the server directory into another location (away from programFiles(X86) though since the server creates files, and win10 doesn't like them in that location.

Finally, try running the server in an account that is an administrator account and make sure firewall access has been allowed.

Let us know if any of those options work.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet

Thanks Led! But I still dating the same error. I don't understand why... :(

I tried downloading the executable SWBFSpy Battlefront.exe (Server), copying it to the server folder to a different directory and nothing.

Also I tried the program as an administrator and the same as before...

I have to say that I had tried disabling the firewall to the SWBFSpy Battlefront.exe (Server) and was the same...

Led I would believe it is true that works for any version of Windows (and certainly it is true!!!) but something in particular happens to my Windows for not feel like opening it without problems.

Despite all thank you very much for your time!!! ;)

Hi again Led! I followed the steps of the video but I haven't managed to solve the problem. :(

Here I leave you the link of the screenshot of my computer made in a video.
In it you can see that I do exactly the same: https://youtu.be/_WeZqFC9MrU

I hope this can be helpful!!! :)

it seems you might have a spanish os there. you might try change the folder name. navigate to:  LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront PC Server\data\_LVL_PC\Common\ENG
rename the ENG folder to SPA save the change

now navigate to: LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront PC Server\data\_LVL_PC\Shell\ENG
rename the ENG folder to SPA save the change

the LucasArts folder might be on your x86Program Files folder on your C drive

now re try to fire the server up

Thank you very much oldsnake, it works!!!  :tu:
And yes, I'm spanish!

I hadn't thought at any time...  :slap:

Well, thats pretty weird cause my PC's OS is also in spanish but i never got a single problem with the location of the server software...
It probably is cause of Win10, I assume..
