Greetings everyone. If you play SWBF2 in multiplayer in the last year you've probably seen people using a cheat that allows them to switch characters at any time they desire. This cheat is more common in hero assault but is possible in the whole game. This cheat has become rampant in some situations, hero assault mostly, and has on occasion ruined good times. An official patch has been made that prevents this cheat 100% and you can get that patch here. Credits to the patch goes to {VA}Jake and the clan VA in general for creating tons of other awesome SWBF2 server patches in the past.

This tool is intended only for admins who run a PC dedicated v1.1 server. This tool is not made for the client side of the game, server only. When the tool is applied to the server, all players in the server are then prevented from using the cheat.

First you need to start the server and make sure that it is running as normal. Then run the patch tool and activate it. From that point on the server should be protected. If you're hosting a server and playing the game from the same computer you will need to start the server first, start the patch tool and then start your game.

It is recommended that everyone shares this with all of their friends so that anyone who has ran a server or may intend to is prepared with the tool.

You can download the tool below by clicking the icon that looks like a paper clip.

General / Has anyone used this shopping website?
July 17, 2016, 10:41:14 PM
Miniinthebox is currently having a sale on official Sony brand PSP batteries and I need some bad, but I'd never heard of this website. I did research and I found more negative things than positive things. I want to ask has anyone here used this site, how was your experience?

This is the current item I am looking at. I am greatly considering this because official Sony batteries are becoming rare, and the cheap aftermarket batteries are really terrible, but all the negative feedback is scary so I am unsure.

I'd like to make a few smallish mods for SWBF1 for personal use and am way behind on the modding scene for the game. I'd just like a general push on updated tools/tutorials.

Thanks.  :P

Edit: I remember in the past trying to remunge the stock sides and using them crashed on maps like Hoth. I never figured this out and it would be sweet if possible to fix.

The user is posting modded files to allow cheating in SWBF2 multiplayer. It would be great if we can all report the post, the user, and the download link on each of the sites he's posted the files on. One of the links has already been removed.

Thanks!

These are mods I've had going for quite a while but have been only been using Gametoast as the primary home. I thought that it would be cool to finally share it here as well. (Starting on this site with V6)

We're currently on version six and it's growing pretty big so far, and it will only get bigger as there is still huge amounts of things that are being planned into future releases.

This is for the PSP version of SWBF2 for those who didn't fully process the topic's title. The main things in the mods are SWBF1 maps, Fake Console/Freecam, Skin Changers, Custom maps and tons more, with tons more being planned. You'll need a PSP emulator or a softmodded PSP to access them. I'd like to ask people not to discuss things like jailbreaking consoles, how to get emulators, where to downloads roms, etc because it's probably forbidden by this site's rules.

Changes & Additions: (Since version 5)
- Hero Assault for all default SWBF2 maps except Jabba's Palace - I just can't make it work
- Hunt for Feluica, CIS rocket troops vs Acklay
- Fixed era C for ctf and conquest on Crash Site map
- Fixed all black texture spots in various maps
- Added Easy Awards game mode to Death Star, SWBF1 Kamino, SWBF1 Geonosis and Tantive IV
- SWBF2 Geonosis finally prepared
- Era G conquest added for SWBF2 Geonosis, only vehicle is AT-AT
- Music restored across the entire game, but sacrifices command post voices and hero talking
- Hero Assault for Warehouse map
- XL mode for SWBF2 Mos Eisley, era G
- Fixed tutorial screens, these may or may not be replaced with something better
- Over half of the Rise of the Empire levels prepared
- Support unlimited custom user scripts
- Attempting to fix text issues for those playing with the European game version
- Scrubbed the Polis Massa windows clean *bird smashes into glass with cartoonish splat sound*

Installation:
- Delete the "_lvl_psp" folder located in PSP_GAME\USRDYR\DATA\
- Put the "_lvl_psp" folder from the download inside of PSP_GAME\USRDYR\DATA\ where the old folder was
- Compile your ISO/CSO
- Game is ready to play

Don't discuss on the forum:
- How to softmod the PSP consoles or the Vita
- How to obtain ripped game roms
- How to get emulators

Primary credits:
- Razac920 for the Free For All game mode source files and scripting stuff
- [RDH]Zerted for Fake Console and scripting stuff
- Teancum for hex editing tips and tips/suggestions for various other things
- LordAwesome23, RogueAssassin2488, TwinkeyRunaway for media
- Anyone who's given feedback, done testing, and reported bugs & issues
- DylanRocket for SWBF1 imports, testing, media, and tons of other tiny bits
- A detailed list of credits is still in planning for the official and final mod release (whenever that happens to be)
- Me (AnthonyBF2) for being the primary project leader
- LucasArts & Pandemic for this great game, Savage Entertainment for doing the best PSP port they could, Sony for the best handheld device in history, and Gametoast for everything related to modding SWBF games

Recent videos:
SWBF2 Geonosis -
Death Star -
XL mode for SWBF2 Mos Eisley -

Currently known bugs and issues:
- Fake Console WILL cause a crash in Campaign modes 100% of the time, don't even try
- Not all campaign maps are completely functional (which ones work/fail not yet documented)
- Texture & skin changers can crash the game randomly, please report which map/mode/era if you experience this
- Challenge game type is broken
- XL mode is pretty much only stable on a good computer using PSP emulator, barely playable on the real PSP
- Galactic Conquest is broken (black screen after finishing a map)

Future:
- More game modes for SWBF1 maps
- More skin options for Fake Console
- More heroes
- More vehicles
- More custom made maps
- More new game modes
- Replacement for tutorial screens (not yet confirmed what will be put there)

In the download you will only find game files - not the entire rom. This is a good way to circumvent the whole piracy thing. You'll have to already have the game obtained before being able to run the mods.

I am open to feedback, suggestions, and testers. I am also open to receive people's assets for custom maps you've built so I can add them to the PSP mods - it's encouraged! I want the PSP mods to be endless!  8)

Hello, I am a big fan of the PSP, as are some other people. Just before GameShare decided to end, they got support working for the two PSP Battlefront games. (Renegade and Elite squadron) GameSpy account creation was also completely functional and the game played fine in multiplayer.

Now on the SWBFspy network, support for these two games does not seem to be going and I want to check if there is plans to make that happen. I, as a few others are willing to help work with you to make this happen. We can report testing and give information, feedback, bug reports, etc.

Using the SWBFspy address 74.91.125.138 gave me the DNS error on the game.
Using the older GameShare address 162.243.230.247 got me past the DNS error and to the GameSpy login screen, but GameSpy login/create failed. Note GameSpy is required for these two games in order to play online. There is no function to play without logging in.

I really hope these games can be supported. They still have a fan base. :)

Technical information:
In the Renegade Squadron game files, we found one special string:
http://gamestats.gamespy.com/swbfffpsp
All other strings are the same for SWBF1 and SWBF2. Only that string was special to the PSP game. I believe Kalle added this string to the database and it helped make the game functional but I am not sure that was all of the required work. As for Elite Squadron, I can't see any GameSpy strings in the files because the game is made differently but trust me, it does use GameSpy.

EDIT:
I poked around Elite Squadron in a memory viewer and found it's unique GameSpy string which is exactly the same as the one I listed above for the other game, except the end of the string is swbfespsp

The strings begin with gamestats but I not think that matters, the part that matters is most likely are the game name extensions swbfffpsp and swbfespsp.

Requests / Help me help you..

I have basic knowledge in BFBuilder, thanks to different things on this site.

How ever I do not understand how to re-create the mission.lvl.

I saw tutorials, that wasn't very clear. I have ideas that might be good, that need a required mision lvl from the existing scripts.

I do use BF Builder Pro to remake my own sides, and edit existing worlds so I'm not completely in the dark. \

Any help here is magnificent.

The game isn't dead yet on Gamespy network but this should be slightly helpful.

You needn't download anything, you will just make a few edits to BattlefrontII.exe.

Open it with hex editor, and do a text string search for "gamespy.com" and replace each line of that you find
with "openspy.net"

I got this idea from a patcher someone made for swbf1's executable, and when file comparing the bf1 exe with an unedited one, that's the only difference.

I tested this mod by playing swbf2 on 2 separate computers, and I could successfully join my own session.

If a site admin can put this topic in the tutorials, would be nice.
Also if someone can build a patcher, that  would be nice... not everyone can understand hex edit, or even find
the file needed to edit.

Edit By Anyder: as openspy was unstable and used to be down most time, what we use now is GameMaster, which its installation is explained here - http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=8070.0

I am trying to make a swbf1 map. It's simple to explain the problem: some objects don't have collision.
I placed the models, odfs and images all where they need to go, when playing the map I just fall out and hit the
stock terrain.

Fix? :D

Edit: Some objects are from the assets from the Swbf2 mod tools.

This is my most favorite part of swbf1 and would like to make it possible in swbf2 to exit ships while flying.

I cannot find anything that might even come close to making it work. I assume it's something hard coded and may not exist in the asset scripts included with bf2 mod tools or bf builder.

Any tips what so ever will be so great.
#32
I know the basic process, or at least I think I do. It works for remaking the stock maps.

I place the assets into the proper directory and munge, but don't get any output files.

I am very familiar with this in swbf2 but not bf1. Any enlightenment would be great. I know it's something small
I'm missing, thanks.

Note: I've seen some-what tutorials on this but none that completely cover it for swbf1 mod tools

SWBF1 Modding / common was unexpected at this time
January 31, 2014, 09:58:07 AM
common was unexpected at this time

how do I fix this?

http://tinypic.com/r/20trz8l/8

I have my game and mod tools in the correct directories. I was removing stuff from my computer recently, I don't know understand if, and how deleted stuff could effect bf1 mod tools.
#34
I hadn't played swbf1 in ages, nor have I payed any attention to tunngle or the swbf sites..

I got on and got this:

http://tinypic.com/r/w2git2/5

I cannot join any sessions and each session presents missing string with some weird code under era and map

if there was tunngle updates or game updates where do I get them or how to fix what ever this is?

thanks.

Dedicated Server No-Download Mods / swbf1 geonosis edits
November 21, 2013, 10:01:57 AM
http://www.mediafire.com/download/n8lxi9p5ln2qr4u/geo1.lvl

I was just fooling around on here Geonosis and made a few, eh.. odd edits.

the At-te spawns under the floor inside the big building or what ever it is, the republic forward command center( I think that what you call it) well it is capturable and one of the techno cp's(the destroyable things) 1 of them belongs to the clones.

this is a modded server file, not from the game data directory.
#36
This is something I felt can be used any remaining players wishing to host good servers, it is compatible with PS2 and PC version servers.

Paid servers? idk, ain't got one.

It removes several common and a few advanced glitches and weak spots from the map, preventing them from being used.

examples: crates are deleted, the ones in the rebel/clone lower ctf base(where jets jump over it)

existing death regions have been re-sized and placed behind common glitch spots(over the back tunnel) and in the corner where ALL glitchers go with turrets.

ALL cp's have been given smaller capture zones so you MUST be within the regular bounds to take them over.

a readme file has more details.

This is an easy mod to assemble. All you need is a Hex Editor.

Open the tat3.lvl inside the Addon folder, etc..

In the hex editor, search for com_bldg_invisible_controlzone

shortly below in code stuff, you will see L0.0, this is a capture radius(0 locks a base)

Giving the base 1.0 range or more activates it, thing is there is no actual command post object in the map, so who's got time to walk around a map looking for a capture region? Easy, I just  gave the CP a whopping 50.0 radius  :P

Then finding a base with 50.0 becomes simple in a tiny map.

The command post them becomes usable for either team.

Also, when you have found com_bldg_invisible_controlzone, notice a little bit of data that looks like "ý¢3"

this determines by default who controls the base even if it has 0 radius.
0 is neutral, 1 and 2 are teams, and 3 is for native factions, in this map the cp belonged to Gamorreans.

I made a video showing how a team with no default cp's left can still spawn if they have hijacked the Gam's spawn point. The new cannot be selected in the menu, it can be used if you have no other bases.

Yes, the mod IS possible on a server manager.

I got this idea when I .. stole? the Gamorreans spawn on SWBF2.

Dedicated Server No-Download Mods / SWBF2 server mods
September 04, 2013, 06:49:23 PM
This is a copy of the mission.lvl, all bots and humans will spawn as the hero for that map. If I remember correctly, I made have screwed up Kashyyyk on some modes, don't load Kashyyyk(it's Boba and Chewbacca)

http://www.mediafire.com/download/je6ljqmxdd10ugc/All_heroes_(mission.lvl).rar

This is a copy of tat2.lvl, it makes the middle CP's in ctf mode capturable, all assault bases captureable and add an extra CP in all modes, yes hunt too. An image file is present to show where the extra cp is located. The extra cp does not have a switch class radius, only capture.

When hosting a non dedicated game on PC version 1.1 swbf2, I can use admin commands and play campaign maps online, use swap to play locked teams(Naboo guards is an exalple) and this is all cool but the sadness is that I cannot apply this to server managers.

On the PC or PS2 server, I cannot load the maps. They DO exist in the mission.lvl and the map files contain everything needed to make the maps and objectives work properly.

When I issue the console command for a map change to a career level, the current map will end, the clients(players) will load the map, play the cut scene for that level.. when the cut scene ends, the server crashes disconnecting all players.

I've tried to make several edits to the BattlefrontII.exe in each of the version server managers.
I tried to make several edits to the mission.lvl and the map .lvl's, nothing at all works.

It's seems this only works correctly when the command is issued by the host, but this again only works on PC Battlefront 2 because the ps2 version doesn't have a chat to enter commands into.

The way I made a server manager load the map(even if it fails) was to edit the player menu and add something like(the career maps coding is not listed in the maps tab on the server interface)

/admin /changemap geo1c_c"|cmd      -But gives the result mentioned above.

Anyone with any knowledge higher than my own level of intelligence, please screw around with this!!

An online campaign server would be a fantastic addition to game play.

As for swbf1? eh.. the servers don't even have a command function.  ::)

Released Maps and Mods / Replaced flags
August 29, 2013, 05:34:10 PM
Replaced flags

http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=1032

This file contains copies of the PC version files: Deathstar, Tantive, Kamino, and Hoth.

Each of these maps is 1Flag CTF, and the flag has been replaced by an item from the
campaign.

The items work just as the flag does, +1 for pickup, +10 for capture and all have a 50
second respawn if dropped.
