Tell your friend to bring his PC.  If you have a 2nd monitor (LCD TV included), he wouldn't have to bring very much, though it may be a hassle.

I saw that a few days ago, and it really captures the spirit of the old Battlefront series, while improving upon it.  The new game I am still unsure of, though it does have great graphics.

If the game allows LAN play, you could make a server using hamachi or tunngle or something like that.  But that remains to be seen.  It seems like they want people to have no access to online play, when they decide to turn their own servers off.

Dbiz, that is a nice system for light activities, but you will not be able to play SWBF3 on that system.  The CPU and GPU are just too slow and weak.  It is not built for gaming.

That is a pretty good deal.  I would guess that the power supply is a cheap one, but otherwise it looks like a decent starter system for SWBF3, and it would play older games very well.

Lower effects and lower resolution will certainly increase your fps.

The minimum requirement says 8 gigs of ram.  I would suggest buying one stick 8 gig stick and slapping that in if you have less than 8 now, as ram is pretty cheap.

The cheapest video card for minimum requirements would probably be a R7 370 for $125, or you might be able to get a GTX 660 or 7850 (2GB) off of Ebay, for less than $100.

I read someone posting somewhere saying that the CPU requirements were not as high as listed, because the beta had worked well on an older cpu this person was using, but no guarantee what kind of framerates anyone else is going to get.

If you buy a newer GPU, your computer needs a EUFI Bios.  EUFI bios have been used since about 2010 and let you navigate the bios with the mouse.  Legacy bios is keyboard only.

Some newer GPU may have a switch on them to install in either EUFI or Legacy bios. Older GPU should have no problem installing on EUFI or legacy bios.

For EUFI bios, R7 370 would be a good minimum card, maybe even GTX 750 TI
For Legacy bios (or EUFI)  7850 2GB, R9 265, R9 270, GTX 660, would be adequate low end choices.

Make sure your power supply is strong enough and has the connectors as listed in the page below.

Here is a link to a page which list power requirements for various GPU

Here is a list of benchmarks for SWBF3 at 1080p with various GPU's.  The lowest GPU on the list, the R7 370, is equal or slightly better to the AMD minimum requirement of a 7850.  The Nvidia minimum is a GTX 660.

Here is a GPU hierarchy chart, you can see very low to top tier GPU's ranked.
It even lists some integrated/laptop gpu's.

Most laptops just can't compare even to entry level gaming GPU's.  Even if you spend big bucks for a gaming laptop, the power you can put into a laptop GPU is limited, and the GPU is going to become outdated eventually, and you can't just put in a new GPU.

For people with older computers, a lot of people can probably get away with just upgrading the GPU.  If your computer is ancient, well you are not going to be playing any new games anyway.

We are all spoiled from playing SWBF1 & 2 with it's relatively low system requirements to today's current computers of the last 5 years.

Here is a list of parts for a new PC, I put together on PC Part Picker.  For a new computer of minimum standards, it costs about 600 dollars.

Without third person, I would not even bother with this game, even if you gave it to me for free.  If it is not TPS, how can they even call it SWBF?  If it is FPS only, then it is just another shoot'em up game among thousands of others.

Make sure you put Battlefront.exe in the correct folder (GameData) and make sure you run "Battlefront.exe", or make a shortcut to it.  Do not run the "LaunchBF.exe" file.

The plug is finally going to be unplugged may 31.  So it looks like the remaining SWBF2 players will be playing on Tunngle also now.  Also a chance to maybe get a few players to try SWBF1 on tunggle also, who previously had not.

Public data, and public knowledge are just that, public.  If you don't want your masterpiece copied, then you should dig a hole and bury it.  Nobody ever has the right to violence.  This means all government and silly government laws have no right to exist.

However, as real people, we all realize that there are angry people with weapons that will harm us if we do not follow or at least appear to follow these silly little rules made by silly little old men in suits, that call themselves "government".

Someone stealing ideas, or taking credit for creativity that is not their own, is not a positive thing.  But violence is much worse and nobody ever has or will ever have the right of violence.

As far as any newer games being tied to windows 8 only, I don't think directly or indirectly that any upcoming pc games will be tied to it, as this would limit any game publishers revenue, as so many people are still running Windows 7 and older operating systems.  However it seems newer games that are ram hungry will naturally be limited to 64 bit operating systems to take advantage of more ram.

Macs are PC's now, ever since they adopted the x86 architecture and left powerpc processors behind.  You could say however, "No Mac OS version".  No reason why you can't run Windows on your Mac (as well as Mac OS and or Linux).

Many people even run Mac OS on non-Apple PC's.
