Incognito's Ferocious Battlefront

Yo y'all!
I'm tryin to get back in the modding scene, and I thought, "well, why not making something for my dear battlefront? "
Near the beginning of the year, I made a mod exclusively for the Rhen Var Citadel that makes the game a bit more spicy while balancing the game to give to any player his chance. But now, I want to make something different, like a lot.
My main goal would be to push the game to its boundaries, totally change its gameplay, and probably it's atmosphere, some months ago I started a project to try to port battlefront to an open source engine, and while it is still on going, I think that before making it The real deal, I should start to exploit the source material as far as I can.
So, what I wanna do with that mod :

Make it pretty hardcore, I want to aim the Old School gamers with the gameplay.

Make it pretty unserious and competitive, that means, re-working some assets, such as the textures, and game sounds, as well as the UI.

And maybe, only maybe, create new character look based upon the older ones.

Why I created that topic ? Well, because I'm in need of help, there is many things I don't master well, such as how to patch sounds, or even at which level you can modify the game, like can you modify the UI, or other things like that.

I'd really like to get the support to make that mod real, and if you're interested, or just want more information, feel free to ask.

Okay, the mod is done at 75%, some republicans customization needs to be done and a little bit of editing in the Mission.lvl that still gives me headaches but it is already good for two maps.

EDIT :

Holy cow ! The beta is already very good, just some skins to change a little bit, two more weapons modifications and it will be good, the footage in the video was an Alpha, the gameplay was there but the skins were changed drastically since then.

That conversion will affect all the playable sides of the game and even map mods ! Which is a functionality that I'm kinda proud of.
It took its load of headaches, but expect a release very very soon. :cheers:

The mod is out people !

So, the mod is a brutal total conversion for Battlefront I's Galactic Galactic Civil War, featuring a non cannon Star Wars scenario involving a war between the Terellian Alliance and the Rebel Galactic Confederacy.
It features new units, new weapons, and a slightly modified Alpha Kaminoan Clone army.

The particularity of the mod, is pretty much in the title, it is a lot more fast paced than the vanilla game, with the speed of the units tweaked and new weapons added, such as the X31 Machinegun, aka "Sasha" as called by the Assault Trooper.

The mod rebalances the game, to give to every unit a specialty, and, most importantly, an equal chance to survive on the battlefield, a sniper or a demoguy won't be defenseless against infantry anymore as an example.

Other important feature, the mod is compatible with custom maps.  :confused:

Hmmmmm, I realized I haven't shared anything about my recent work on the mod lately, and there was a lot done since the Open Beta Release, a bit of a dev diary can be found here :

Everything has been reworked on, and I pretty much started from zero again, even getting to change the sides once again, the stability have been improved, and all maps will now load.
The mod now works with the GCW campaign, and will serve as a placeholder until I make a custom campaign in 2018.

One feature majorly unexplored on the community (as far as I'm aware), the implementation of new voice samples for the Galactic Marine Corps, which covers all the previous "vanilla" samples, even more since the low_health_sound function is now used.

Check out the dev diary for more content and stay tuned for the upcoming trailers, which should come out around a week or so.
