SWBF1 Modding / [SOLVED]Pushed sounds to the limit.

Hey, this week I've been furiously working on my mod, constantly adding in new sounds and I stumbled upon some wierd issue, maps with 3 sides and vehicles will load either my custom sound file or the game's common sounds, but for some really odd reason, the music is still loaded from the file. Changing the sound loading order in the mission.lvl file switches from one sound bank to another, but won't load both.

My mod adds over 200 sounds and 37 music tracks in the custom file as of now, could it come from a limit I shouldn't have crossed ?

Hey, so I resumed my work on my mod, and everything's getting quite near the final release milestone, one of my last obstacles is munging music, sounds represent no problems, as I somehow managed to put together a sound effect munger, but Music remain an unbreached obstacle...

I have tried to put PsychoFred and Vyse's knowledge to the play but it won't work, it stops while munging a .stm file.
My main goal now is munging my mod's effects and music together in a big file that I'll be able to forcibly hexedit in mod maps to make em compatible with my mod.

So yeah, a bit of help is needed now, because I know that it won't munge on X64 systems and that it won't allow me to work by trial and error as I usually do...

Hello there !

So I start to be interested into joining into the multiplayer competition but I have a major issue, my connnection will barely reach 100 kbps and my network configuration gives me the ping of a random dude from Australia, so the question is, do I have any chances to play Battlefront online or am I stuck into playing LAN sessions until I move somewhere else ?

I thought the website lacked such a section, General seems to be a bit... too general.
Dunno, got the feeling that we should have a place to get to know members a bit better, what do you think of this ? I already have a few ideas of the topics we could create if such a section existed.

Everything's in the title I have no idea of how I can do that, everything that pops up whenever I tinker with the ODF is an hexadecimal value as a name.

Hello, everything is in the title, I made major progress in my project and now the terrain is ready (thanks to tirpider) but now I'm running into a small issue, how do I open .msh files with blender ? Is there some patches to install in order to make it work ? I don't think I can work with XSI for what I'm doing.

Hello !

My mod is in W.I.P and should be soon released, (gimme some tiiiiiiime) and I'd like to know if it was possible to modify the audio streams the soldiers uses and re-munge them with new samples.

Hello there !

I have started to work on my Open Source conversion of Battlefront 1, and I'm facing a problem, I am unable to extract the map's landscape, Zero Editor has a mode which exports the map as .TER format, however, no program I have such as Terragen or Blender is able to open it, when I export the file as .obj , It turns insanely big and almost not readable, can someone help me with the extraction of the Citadel's Landscape from the .TER file ? I'm totally out of options here.

Heyo ! So, I already talked about my battlefront revive idea, so everything has begun, and I now need to know how to open the BF map files with Blender, is there a way to somehow convert the .wld files ?

I have a question but I don't really know where to post it, has someone already/Is it possible to accelerate the walking animation of the units so their speed values can be raised above the current limit without them sliding on the ground ?

Yo y'all!
I'm tryin to get back in the modding scene, and I thought, "well, why not making something for my dear battlefront? "
Near the beginning of the year, I made a mod exclusively for the Rhen Var Citadel that makes the game a bit more spicy while balancing the game to give to any player his chance. But now, I want to make something different, like a lot.
My main goal would be to push the game to its boundaries, totally change its gameplay, and probably it's atmosphere, some months ago I started a project to try to port battlefront to an open source engine, and while it is still on going, I think that before making it The real deal, I should start to exploit the source material as far as I can.
So, what I wanna do with that mod :

Make it pretty hardcore, I want to aim the Old School gamers with the gameplay.

Make it pretty unserious and competitive, that means, re-working some assets, such as the textures, and game sounds, as well as the UI.

And maybe, only maybe, create new character look based upon the older ones.

Why I created that topic ? Well, because I'm in need of help, there is many things I don't master well, such as how to patch sounds, or even at which level you can modify the game, like can you modify the UI, or other things like that.

I'd really like to get the support to make that mod real, and if you're interested, or just want more information, feel free to ask.

What's up Dudes ?
I recently fully switched to Linux, and while I still have a Windows partition, I find more convenient to use my dear Slackware, and since we're on a Battlefront community I had a question.
Did anyone here had any success in running any SWBF (EA not included, never) on Linux ?
The game runs, but only with my Intel, whenever I run "primusrun win /myswbfrepertoryandcommand" the game just crashes.

What the shock ? I just ran Battlefront, haven't made that since some months now and guess what ? All the game was playing at 1336x768 ! I don't remember having done anything, I mean I have done attempts but none have worked, and everything is perfectly scaled ! Did that happened to someone else than me ?

Helloooo !

I'm a big Star Wars Battlefront fan (you must be already aware of that because why would I be here if not right ?)
And I had an idea.
Why not trying to port Star Wars Battlefront to a more modern and highly customisable engine ?
I was thinking about id tech 4, it would be perfect for that task, in addition there is a lot of assets of the original games we can recycle for that purpose, such as the maps and the textures !
What are you thinking of that ? I personally started to gather the necessary tools and I'll start to try to port the Citadel (my favorite map) for Doom 3, and I'll later try to make it standalone. I'll use RBDOOM 3
I know id Tech 3 would be a better choice for this since two Star Wars games use it but, wouldn't it be awesome to have it in a modern engine ?
The engines I am talking about are completely open source.
I almost forgot, there is a Call of Duty 4 mod named Galactic warfare, I think it's assets are available.
What are you thinking of that ?

Hey yo !

I'm  new in here, but I already have the feel I'll fit in here perfectly !

I developed a little mod for Rhen Var The Citadel, map, I shall upload it soon, with tons of modifications for the stock units.
With skins based on other mods, but I don't remember yet as I did it four months ago, but I still have the files so the work I used will be credited.  ;)

Hello there !
So I am posting this here because I have a problem.

How am I supposed to do to Add the Dark trooper as a CIS unit ?
I know I have to sacrifice one unit because of the 5 limit,
