Your access should now be restored.

Now that it's back online without the use of this, is anybody having any trouble getting into a multiplayer game?

Oh, I see.Usually, no, but yesterday until 01:00 or something like that I logged in the forum with my gaming computer.

And also, I seem to face the same issue as sleepy alligator, it worked one day, then nothing, the weird part is that everything went nuts just after you left and rejoined the server, I might have been somehow blocked, I have already been told that my ISP works in a very special way, and I found myself being banned from forums I never registered to, so it might be a clue.

Yeah, you seem OK to me  ;)

But I can't do anything to help without your real IP address.

No, just trying to protect whatever modicum of privacy I can. I sent you a message.

Your IPs appear to be tracking back to all of the country.  Are you by chance using some sort of IP masking service?

Since our favorite troll uses this type of service, this IPs are perma-banned on the server.

If you want to send me a PM with your IP and your ISP information, I will do what I can.

Yeah. Ok. I don't want to be perma-banned and I'm not here to troll.

Looks like you are using Tor Browser.  If you use a regular browser, I can see you real IP and make sure it is not blocked.

Tor Browser IPs are blocked here as they are often used by spammers and trolls.

SWBF2 was released in 2005.  You can also try gameranger to find games.

Oh, I also use a VPN.

I'm not on Tor. Just duckduckgo. I HAVE tor, but not for coming on forums and stuff.

Led asked Incognito, in case we made a mistake  :g:

It's crazy that it worked for one day. I was playing through maps with one to three human teammates with about as many human opponents. How old is this game? I just bought it. Seems to have diminished, especially with whatever happened with GamerSpy

Yes, this is my gaming baby.

Worked yesterday, thanks for the heads up.  8)

Not getting an error message. The same shortcut gets me into the game. But when I click on multiplayer, it loads slow, then pulls up a "busy" loading notification, and finally pulls up the screen that used to contain all of the games available, but it's blank, blank, blank. I ain't too worried, though. I am just looking forward to Battlefront II coming out in November, I think.

It worked that one day, and not since. :( Even if only a handful of people still play, it was fun. Looking forward to the new Battlefront II in Nov.

You did not make a shortcut.   You just copied the exe.

start over with the making a shortut part of the instructions.

AH! That makes sense. I'm going to try again. Thanks.

Edit: Edit: Thankfully, I didn't have to start from scratch. Just created a shortcut from the .exe, and I say thankee sai. Thanks for everything.

If you get an error for something similar to "The program can't start because binkw32.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem." then you need to make a shortcut for the executable and run that instead.

Yes, that's the error. I'm not sure if you've read this thread, but I've done that (uninstall/reinstall-shortcut for .exe) twice.

Can you make a screen shot of the shortcut on your desktop where you have right clicked on it to show the properties?

Also check your firewall.

And to be sure, what error are you getting?  The bink error still?  or something else?

Yes, the error is the same one as before: "The code execution cannot proceed because binkw32.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem." It's still naturally (upon downloading) in all caps. I don't think that's the problem.

Download the file at this link:
http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=1384

right click and extract it

copy the new exe file to your steam location.  My steam location is at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData
(see attached image)

right click on this new exe file and select "copy"

go to your desktop and paste SHORTCUT

to run multiplayer, do not go through steam, double click on your new SHORTCUT

I reinstalled. I followed your directions very deliberately, one step at a time. It wasn't hard.
But I'm still getting the same error message as before. No multiplayer yet.

Thanks fellas. I'm going to reinstall (again). I'll watch that How To Patch video.
