Oh man, you are literally breathing new life into SWBF1 with your mods and maps! Really excited for these, especially Death Star and Coruscant. :cheer:

Released Maps and Mods / Re: Ranen: Platforms (4.0)

Woah, I remember playing this map about 10 years ago! :o It's awesome to see it updated after all these years. The new additions and tweaks look really good and make the map look much more polished. Great job!  :tu:

Sorry for the late reply, but I've ordered the Best od PC pack. When it arrives and I get to test it, I might edit this post to share whether that version is DRM-free or not, just in case someone else is looking for information on that.

Thanks for the replies, People! :D I might get that Best of PC set then, especially since I like (or even love) each of the games included. :)

Hello,
This question might be a little bit weird, but I am so curious that I am still willing to ask it. :shrug:

While I do own the Steam and GOG versions of SWBF1 already, I wanted to get a disc release that I could put on a special place on my shelf. The deal is, I do not feel like buying the game just to put the box on shelf and never even install it, so I would like to get such a version of SWBF1 that may work without the necessity of having your CD/DVD always inside your drive to play it.

So, my question is, is there a SWBF1 release that does not require the disc to play? I know that the US CD release has the SecuROM DRM, but could anyone confirm whether the Vista DVD re-release or the Best of PC release still have that DRM or not? Perhaps one of the official patches removed the DRM?

Thanks in advance for the answers. :cheers:

SWBF1 Modding / Re: Would that be legal?
July 02, 2021, 12:06:34 PM
Once again, thank you for the tip. :D  I've given this idea a try, but I wasn't fully satisfied with the process of making those textures, so I'll probably try out something else. Still, it was interesting to try this out. :happy:

Thanks a lot, Guys. :cheers: I haven't even started working on that project yet, and if I find the results of my work on those textures awful, I'll decide not to go in that direction. I just wanted to make sure that I'd avoid a situation where I could come up with some satisfying results and then have to throw all that work away. :shrug:

So, just to make it clear (because you've mentioned using these screenshots as a reference material) - if I tried to cut parts of these renders and paste them onto the textures themselves, it would still be okay, right?

SWBF1 Modding / Would that be legal?

Giftheck had created a detailed topic here in which he explained which assets we could use and which we should stay away from (or at least use them as rarely as possible). While it seems pretty clear, there is one thing that's on my mind and I wanted to ask about it here to get rid of any doubts.

I was wondering whether it would be legal to create a mod for the Rebel side in which I'd use the SWBF 2015 renders/wallpapers (that EA put out to promote the game) to make my own textures. I don't know how good (or bad) the results would be, but I'm  curious about it and as long as it wouldn't put a "terminate" mark on my back, I might be interested in trying to do something like this. :D

Hello everyone,
Lately I've been trying to get Sereja's female Imperial officer (from his Death Star map assets pack) to work in SWBF2. The funny little thing about that model is that the hat and hair piece are a separate addon MSH, that apparently has to be added via the ODF file. Now, since SWBF2 uses a slightly different code to apply addon meshes, I assumed that I should attach that part similarly to backpack addon meshes, only changing the bone to which this msh is attached. However, the addon part does not appear in-game and I don't know how to fix this. :(

I'm probably doing something wrong, so I'll share the part of my ODF file:

AnimatedAddon = "female_officer_hat"
GeometryAddon = "female_officer_hat"
AddonAttachJoint = "bone_head"

Any suggestions? And thanks in advance for any answers. :D

EDIT: Just to avoid doubts regarding this: I checked the name of the hat part mesh, and it's the same as in the ODF file. I also made sure not to forget to copy the hat mesh along with the body mesh, so those are definitely not the case.

Requests / Re: Rebel Twi'lek model?
November 07, 2020, 07:08:20 AM
I've downloaded the pack, and while it has some models which might prove to be useful in the future, unfortunately it only has CWA male Twi'lek models. What I need is a female Rebel Twi'lek model. Still, thanks for pointing me to that pack - there are many cool models in it.  :)

Requests / Rebel Twi'lek model?
November 07, 2020, 04:41:22 AM
Hello, once again, I'm looking for an asset. I'm looking for a female Rebel Twi'lek model (preferably with a SWBF1 Marksman body). I've seen such a model in Gogo12/Ginev's Tatooine map, however, the download links to the assets from that map are dead and I'm unable to find any alternative.  :(

Requests / ARF Trooper
October 15, 2020, 08:02:56 AM
Hello, I wanted to ask where I may find an ARF Trooper model (the one that I would like to find is the one with the stock Clone Trooper body). I know that such model already exists, I just don't know where to find it - I think I've seen it in the Skin Changer Mod.
Thanks in advance! :)

EDIT: I think I should add that I would like to use it in SWBF1, since I believe that some models may not work there.

Thanks a lot! Unless someone actually puts together that kitbash, I might use this model. :)

Requests / A Bothan Spy/EP6 Luke kitbash
October 05, 2020, 08:45:55 AM
Hello, I wanted to ask if anyone would be willing to take their time to make a kitbash of SWBF2 EP6 Luke Skywalker's body and SWBF2 Bothan Spy's Head (and, if possible, also give him a SWBF1 Rebel Marksman backpack). I assume it might be difficult to find someone who'd spend their time making this, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask about it here. :shrug:

Alternatively, does anyone know where I may find the unused SWBF1 Bothan Spy model? I've seen it featured in a couple of mods, but couldn't find a link.

Thanks in advance to anyone who'd decide to help. :tu:
