Kinda. UTC is the origin time for computers and is used when time needs to be time zone independent. You computer runs on UTC, but it just converts for the display. However, there is no area in the world where a time zone called UTC is official. GMT is the real time zone equivalent

BTW Texas weather sucks but Mississippi weather is the best. At least it stays the same almost all day rather than jumping from freezing to roasting in the sun.
