Post by: jonoreilly on December 16, 2017, 12:05:00 AM
I used to play SWBF1 and 2 in PS2 and kinda miss the first one cause i lost the disc  :'( . I mainly have 3 questions:

    1. What is SWBFspy and how does it works? Is it centralized or can I host a server in my RPi?

    2. Mods : How do I [ install them | build my own ] ? And which are your favourites?

    3. Is there much lagg? I've optic fibre in Spain, Europe

    4.  :moo::xmastim:

Welcome to SWBFGamers  :cheers:

1) SWBFSpy is a masterserver replacement for GameSpy. If u seek any other info, u can find it all here: http://info.swbfspy.com
You can host gameservers there, yeah. But i'd recommend a VPS or Rootserver to host, it will be easier unless u know how to deal with a router and the firewall.
Here's a hosting tutorial: http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=1375.0

2) Despite being outdated, this topic should help a lot on where to find tools/assets/tutorials -- http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=3615.0 --
Otherwise if u are searching for something specific, u can make use of the search tab.

This is the board for SWBF2 Modding Tutorials --> http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?board=115.0

3) Lag will only happen if your connection is low, or has routing point issues (which are more likely to happen if your internet provider is doing some maintenance). Give it a try and let us know  ;)
I also live in Spain and do not have any issues with it.
