Tech Support / Re: Connection to Host lost error

I get this frequently as well, on SWBF and SWBFII. I've always assumed that it was trouble with my internet.

FC takes Mygeeto, GG. (There were 6 YAK)
Yep, I had 0/6 k/d, and was on the bottom of the scoreboard.

My eyes might be tricking me but I cannot seem to find Mygeeto on the galaxy map.
If I remember correctly, Mygeeto replaced the Death Star.

Good game, GRC.

If I can get Tunngle working, I'd love to participate!

I'm not sure what the smile thing is, so that could be the problem. The servers all had <10 people, so I don't think that's it. I often had this same error playing on both DC and normal servers before the shutdown. LAN never worked for me before, that might be connected to this.

General / Re: Music Suggestions

Nine Lashes and Project 86 are pretty good. Have you heard Spy Hunter or The Butcher by P86?

I've been listening to Rescue & Restore by August Burns Red a lot lately. I'm also trying to broaden my music horizons. Does anyone here know any good Country artists/songs? That's the only genre that I don't like at all. Although I guess I don't really like opera that much either.

Does anyone have any ideas about what I should do if I get the "Connection to host lost" message every time I join a match? It used to do this about 60-70% of the time with GameSpy as well, so it could just be my PC.

Also, thanks for the help up above Led, I appreciated it! The download went smoothly and my PC seems to be ok so far, except for the error stated above.

So, I downloaded Tunngle, and at the end of the installation it says:

"The software you are installing for this hardware:
TAP-Win32 Adapter V9 (Tunngle)
has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP.

Continuing your installation of this software may impair or destabilize the correct operation of your system either immediately or in the future. Microsoft strongly recommends that you stop this installation now and contact the hardware vendor for software that has passed Windows Logo testing."

It then allows you to either "Continue Anyway" or "STOP Installation"

I tried both the latest version from Tunngle's website and the "Stable" download from here. Both have the same problem, but the "Stable" version also had a couple more. Does anyone have any ideas?

Welcome to the forums from which there is no escape.
I escaped!  :o

Well, maybe not since I still post occasionally... This site is too much fun to leave completely.

It's not that my age would affect if I could play it or not (I'm already 17), it's that I think it is better not to have that content unnecessarily.
+1 I agree totally with Kit. I hope it's not unnecessarily gory like COD (just my opinion).

On the other hand, I would like to have some sort of melee action, but keep it Star Wars-y like GM was talking about.

5. Tatooine: Dune Sea - I love flying around in a Droid Starfighter annihilating Tuskens!
4. Tatooine: Mos Eisley - Before I played SWBF, I had only played SWBFII, and I loved Mos, it was my absolute favorite map. Somehow I just don't like the SWBF version as much, IDK why. It's still an amazing map though.
3. Bespin: Cloud City - A bit overplayed online, but it's a great map that is a lot of fun to play.
2. Rhen Var: Citadel - One of my favorite maps, both SP and MP. It works well in MP because it's so balanced, and IDK why I love SP, I just do. Although that may have to do with the one time I got 90+ kills, 0 deaths, and won on hard.
1. Tatooine: Jabba's Palace - Jabba's only narrowly beats out Citadel because I have such fond memories of playing this map in MP, so fun!

I'm a bit late to the party here, but I'd like to wish you well Gold Man! I hope school goes well and that you get a chance to play some SWBF occasionally!

I like John Williams' scores, especially Star Wars (duh) and Indiana Jones. I also like the scores to the Pirates of the Caribbean movies by Hans Zimmer (and Klaus Badelt). Another of my favorite scores is the LEGO Universe score by Bryan Tyler.
