General / Re: Star Wars VII Main Cast Announced

So I was looking up the IMDB pages for the actors, and noticed that the guy who played Bill Weasley in harry potter is included. I am thoroughly looking forward to the possibility of Jedi Weasley  ;)

Looks like a nice bunch though, some HBO actors and up and coming talents. This should be good.

I'm pretty sure I'd be a clone commando. Yeah, that's it.  ;)

Only because you don't have that jolly Droideka with the hat as your avatar anymore :bonk:

I had that as my avatar for over a year, and it's way past Christmas. Time for a change. Christmas Deka will return though  ::)

What, I don't get my own topic?  ;)

Congrats Unit

I'm not sure if this is possible with modding. I do know that the only way to walk around in space is to park a fighter in the middle of the hangar shield, so half of your ship is in space and the other half still in the ship.

General / Re: Gamespy shutting down

If anybody wants to organize a Day of SWBF2, similar to what we did a few years ago with the Day of SWBF, and send out SWBF2 Multiplayer with a bang, I would be happy to join up.

Even though I never really liked SWBF2 multiplayer as much as SWBF1's, I still have a lot of great memories playing Jedi hero assault, playing many of the great mods for the game, and screwing around with clanmates. I even met one of my online friends that I still talk to this day with, because of a mod server I played around on.

It's been good SWBF2. Hopefully there are more multiplayer options with you than there were with SWBF1

Edit: Something just occurred to me. SWBF2's multiplayer runs off of Gamespy, but it is a game supported by steam. Is there any chance of it becoming a steamworks game, or is the Gamespy multiplayer intrinsically connected to the coding of the game?

General / Gamespy shutting down
April 03, 2014, 08:34:27 PM
So, by the end of this month it looks like Gamespy will but shutting down its servers for all of its games. This includes games like older COD's and Battlefield games, as well as the still active Halo:CE servers.

Some Star Wars games are also shutting down, including Jedi Academy, Republic Commando, and Jedi Outcast. What I'm really concerned about though, is the SWBF2 servers. Does anybody know whether those servers will still be active, or is SWBF2 multiplayer on the way out?

If SWBF2 is truly going to be only singleplayer, it looks like I'm going to have to binge before the end comes.

General / Re: Thoughts on Star Wars: The Clone Wars

The show does get a bit childish sometimes, but overall as a cartoon it's pretty great. I'm watching Season 4 right now on Netflix and as the series keeps going it just gets better.

I still really love the original Clone wars series though, I'll always remember the episode where Grievous stalks a whole group of Jedi protecting Palpatine and manages to kill all of them.

Other Games / Re: Any Halo fans here?

I only got a 360 a couple years ago, so my first experience playing online was with Halo: Reach. Thought 4 was a pretty good game with a great singleplayer and an OK multiplayer. I think 5 will probably be much better, and if I get an Xbox one it'll probably be the reason I get it. I think I may have to skip out and just get a PS4 though, I think it's a better value.

Also, I'll just say that I loved Halo: Wars. At first I thought a Halo RTS was a bit weird on the consoles, but it turned out to be a pretty good strategy game. I should boot it up again sometime.

So the silversun pickups are releasing a new single, and they uploaded it to youtube. It's not a whole new album but it's still something.

Here's a list of games for 2014. There's a lot of good sounding games I think. :)
http://metro.co.uk/2014/01/03/gamecentral-video-games-preview-of-2014-from-titanfall-to-destiny-4241700/

With all of these coming out, the consoles should look way more appealing by the end of this year. Destiny and Titanfall especially look really appealing.

I'm still not buying a console until later this year when more games come out, and when I have more money. Right now they just don't seem like a good buy.

Your in luck and because its the holidays I've resurfaced from retirement!

I am Red Leader... him of the {TL20} The Lost Twenty fame.

I got into Star Wars BattleFront fairly late on, perhaps about 2006/7. It was originally on the PS2 when I first started playing but I hated playing on consoles. I don't know what it was but I loved the game. Perhaps a few months afterwards I ended up with a broken foot, some time off work and ordered my first broadband connection.

I played BattleFront for a good while on the multiplayer and saw all these clans (no idea what they were at the time) and looked around for the one that interested me. To cut a long story short I was recruited into {JMS} by Najac and met other members such as Ric, Dark, Smallz, Soggy and a few others in the clan.

Turned out that the leader of {JMS} was MIA and the clan was lasting but for the good will of the members that were in it. Seeing the writing on the wall and talking over the options, Najac and myself decided to form {TL20} as a better organized and smaller clan limited to 20 people...more or less. Based on the missing number of Jedi in Star Wars...google it... Our forums (not the original ones unfortunately) are still up and running.

The clan lasted a good 2 years but it did have its ups and downs. Many a good laugh and precious moment was had. Something good in gaming that you don't get anymore. Gradually the members either left or went quiet. I myself left to enjoy life a little and relax. COD4 was also launched near that time and a good deal of people headed in that direction.

When I started playing BattleFront there were a good number of solid and established clans out there. They changed here and there...members moved from one clan to the next. It was different times and a close knit small community that most people were happy to help in order to keep it healthy.

I am though quite looking forward to more Star Wars BattleFront games but have my fingers crossed that EA/DICE don't balls it up!

Good to see you around Red, hope you're doing well

Other Games / Re: Free Left for Dead 2 on Steam

I know it's a free game, but holy crap there's a lot of hype over this for a game that's been 5 dollars during every Steam sale for the past 2 years. Still a great gift from Valve though.

If anybody wants to play hit me up on steam as Droideka7.

Thanks to my laziness and spotty activity on this site, I haven't changed my avatar since last Christmas, lol. So, I am already prepared to be a very festive droid  ;)

Happy holidays, merry christmas, have fun with your families, and here's to hoping everyone gets the presents they want
