I have 2 questions about texturing for the Battlefront games. Firstly, is there a way I can texture my meshes without using Softimage XSI? Secondly, is there a way I can make a transparent mesh? I'm basically trying to make a large glass dome.

Hi,
To your second question:
As far as I know, the only way to make transparent meshes is to hexedit them.
Here I found a tutorial of Sereja. http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=4785.msg63812#msg63812
For me is making transparent objects one of the most difficult things in modding. I did little experiments and failed until now.
Here another link that could help

I hope someone will answer your post with more experience than me.
A glass dome would be awesome.  :cheer:
Good luck with it

Im quite experienced with transparent textures, but I'd rather not discuss about them publicly. Lots of people will say it is cheating, and I do not want to see drama, or whats more, start it.
Feel free to PM me if u wanna discuss about them.
Here's, for instance, the first Iced-Texture skin I developed -

Well, actually there is exist a way to make entire object transparent without using XSI, HEX Editor, and any texture changing at all. All you need to do it's add this lines in .odf:
GeometryColorMin = "255 255 255 155"
GeometryColorMax = "255 255 255 255"

You may try to change any of the numbers from 0 to 255 to change colour and transparency.
Beauty is, the way to perfection.
