EA has revealed the title of their new Star Wars Battlefront game. And it is Star Wars Battlefront II. Roman numerals and all.
There is only one Battlefront II. It was released in 2005.

They're wrong if they think they can erase the old games by naming the new ones after them, although it will muddy up search engines. I hope SWBFSpy outlives all the EABF games.
Yeah, even their first one is really unfinished--and never will be. You can't even find a game most nights. Only 1200 players on at a time these days...and since there is no browser, you can't just find a game on your own, you have to search regions...

Tho I do enjoy the older ea games
like from the 90's like NFSHS that was
a fun 1999 game. I think that i just like old games

I feel like we've brought this on ourselves in some way.
I'm not one of those people who would hate it just because DICE made it. I judge a game on its merits. We had Battlefield 1 come out last year, and that's by the exact same developers, but it plays so much better. There could be all sorts of reasons. I personally think DICE's Battlefront was rushed and they failed to properly take into account the franchise's legacy. I hope they have learned their lesson, but I'm not going to be purchasing this day one or preordering it like I did the previous one. I'll be waiting until they do a sale like they did with Battlefield 1 (where I got it at 45% off on the PS Store)

The title is a little annoying but I'll just call it SWBF2EA/SWBFEA2 just to differentiate it. I liked EA's Battlefront but hopefully SWBF2EA will be a lot more like the original games, though so far all we know is that it'll have multiple eras, a campaign, and no conquest mode (because they want to differentiate Battlefront from Battlefield... poor excuse, imo).

My laptop released around the same time as the game (and indeed, themed on the Dark Side, with backgrounds and sounds from TFA) can't actually run any games from that year as the processor is not good enough and I'm 2GB or RAM short. Figures. Runs everything else very, very well though.

clone wars would be great, but disney wouldnt like it, and it isnt as compatible with the existing modes and customization system imo.

Well, "multiple" doesn't exactly mean two, so they could have all 3 eras. CW, GCW and TNT (The New Trilogy.)

I don't think they are sticking the title like that because they think it will make the game great. I think they're just sticking to the naming convention established by pandemic. I would rather it be called Battlefront II than Battlefront 2.
