Title: CD Key not authorized?
Post by: G-Force on March 15, 2015, 09:27:22 PM
Hey There, can anyone help me with this? Me and a friend just got two separate SWBF 1 disks and got them all loaded and working, mine on my computer and his disk on his. We go to play online and we both can join any room and play with others online, but when we try to join the same room, one of us can get in but the other it says "CD key is not authorized to play this game" and can't join. If i get out of that room, then he can join but I can't, and vice versa...Its like somehow it is connecting us two together or something... we both have different CD key codes that we typed in when we loaded the game. He's even on a different internet server than I am so we aren't even using the same network or anything. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks!

Also should mention we are using Macs, using the workaround with the PC BF disk...

the only time that ever happened with me was one time me and my dad tried to use the same disc. I think you need two separate CD keys. So you can have two CD's but if you use the same CD key it will do that.

Hey thanks for the response guys...we do have different CDs and CD keys...I also checked out that forum, it's a thread I started over at gameshare to see if someone over there might know....it's still giving us that error still...Are there any other Mac users out there, using that work around that Kit Fisto shared, that have run into this issue or might know what to check?

In the other thread, Kalle said:

QuoteThe error "CD key is not authorized to play this game" can have three meanings in Battlefront1:
- Your key isn't valid (by the masterserver) [Never an issue, he claims]
- Your key is in use on the server you wan't to join
- The masterserver may can't contacted

I'm pretty sure by now that this must be wrong, there's too many cases of people with legitimate copies of the game who've had this problem (and not just mac users).

There is obviously an issue here, but I don't think that anyone but gamespy would have access to the valid key database or the blacklisted key database.
